Question about Pots & Pans from Macy's
I'm registered @ Macy's. I registered for the Tools of the Trade - Belgique Elite set. Personally, I know nothing about what's a good brand or not (for cookware), but thought that it was a good set: Originally, 16 pieces for $349.99.
Since registering, I've seen the price drop tremendously (it's now on-sale for $199.99), and I can't help but ask myself if it's because it's not a good make (or not good enough for people to want to buy).
Does anyone know if those pots aren't worth it? Also, which are the better brands? Should I change the pots to a different set before it's too late?
Help! ~ TIA!

Re: Pots & Pans
I heard that Macy's is revamping their home department and is discontinuing certain brands. Not sure if this applies, but you may want to check into that just to be sure that's not the reason.
As for quality, I like Calphalon and All Clad personally.

I second All-Clad....my FMIL is big into cooking, and she swears by All-Clad, so that is what we registered for. it's not cheap though!!

Re: Question about Pots & Pans from Macy's
I am pretty sure that Tools of the Trade is a Macy's brand - I don't know if that makes the quality different... I know that the really good name brands are Caphalon and All-Clad - we registered for Caphalon.

Yea, I heard about them discontinuing the brand. That's ok, as long as the set it complete.
But why do you like the quality of Calphalon (how do you pronounce that?) & All Clad better? Please, don't hesitate to be blunt, I want honest opinions. Is it like Tools of the Trade is "Old Navy", and Caphalon is "Banana Republic"? Also, are the Tools not enough for just cooking?

Re: Question about Pots & Pans from Macy's
My set of pots are from Macy's -- I got them 2 years ago for Christmas. I LOVE THEM! Nothing ever sticks to them, the clean easy, and so far they haven't scratched either.
They make a good product!

Re: Question about Pots & Pans from Macy's
I was going to register for all clad but I know a couple of people that have it and they said that it's really over priced and they all started getting the Tools of the trade because it was lighter to work with. I registered for tools o f the trade.
