5 Places in NYC I would honestly recommend to all the happy couples.
Here's a PSA for you from me...
Here are 5 places I would tell you.. 'Go there, you and FH/FW/DH/DW will have a great time!'
1. Bubble Lounge (West Broadway)
2. Gascogne (17th and 8th) {French food}
3. Uguale (by the West Side Highway.) {French and Italian food}
4. Fat Black Pussycat (West 3rd)
5. The Evelyn Lounge (Columbus and 78th?)
If you know 5.. (or even just one) that really IMPRESSED you.. I'd love to hear where it is.
Thanks!
OG

Well my friend got a bunch of us kicked out of Evelyn's Lounge last winter b/c he wanted to sit in the VIP section but not drink so he threw $$$ at the waitress and said 'Here... now leave me alone!' It got messy after that.

My DH and I enjoy Burp Castle. They have a huge beer selection from all over the world.I am a little biased, but I think Don't Tell Mama is a great place on the weekend especially.

FH used to live near there. It's one of the places I wished we'd gone into in that area.
Regardless, it's the best bar name EVER!

1. Bubble Lounge (West Broadway)
The last few times I was there, there were more hookers than anything, so I stopped going. It was a cool place though= minus the clientel
I recently went to shalel - is a moroccan lounge. Very interesting. I am very into that theme (my FH is Israeli adn so is my family). I loved the music and couldnt' believe the cozy little rooms. We are thinking about having our guests come tehre the night before our wedding.

FW and I love lounges! Where's Shalel?
BTW.. hookers at the Bubble Lounge????
Do you mean in the place.. or outside in the vicinity? We've been there 3 times.. and well, thank God.. we never had to deal with this.

I like Bar89 in Soho (89 & Mercer, I think) It's a bit pricey tho.The Cupping Room on Broome St. is great too.
I agree about Burp Castle...

No the hookers were inside. They were expensive looking hookers, but definitely hookers.SHalel is on the upper west side on 70th Street (I think) between Columbus and CPW- Closer to Columbus.

Cool...
Have you ever been to the small ounges in Alphabet city?.. There one called Punch And Judy that I've been to which is great.
It's a wine bar.. All red.
Speaking of all red places.. there's also madame X... which I took FW to also.
Well a co-worker friend tells me after we went there, that downstairs from there is an S&M club!

I don't know it that's true or not.
Too funny.
Appreciate your post.. as they might say downstairs from Madame X --
Spanks a lot!

We went once to Foleys Fish House its located in the Renaissance Hotel. It's a little pricy, but what place in Manhattan isn't, right -- it was very good.It over looks down the middle of Times Square.

For a very nice, very romantic dinner try Two if By Land One if By Sea. They say a lot of proposals happen there and my FH took me there after he proposed. So romantic!

It's not a lounge or a bar......
but one of OUR favorite places to go in NYC (not for dinner though!!!) has to be HANDS DOWN.... Serendipity III for dessert!!!!! Been there so many times in the last 12 years since we started going!!!!http://www.serendipity3.com/
