Central Islip, Copiague and Wheatly Heights are on the lines of Nassau's Uniondale, Roosevelt, Freeport, etc...

Some parts in Bayshore are nice. and W. Babylon I believe is nice (I dont know too much about W. Babylon)

well....I know Copiague..and it's kind of a hole in the earth...ghetto at parts and mixed neighborhood...huge Polish and hispanic settlement...like 'off the boat' imigrant town. Nothing wrong with that perse` but it makes a particular dinamic. That's all I'm familiar with around here...I'm from Nassau so not really aquainted with the area much. Parts of Amittyville are BEAUTIFUL though. depends on your style i guess...

Re: W.Babylon, Copiague, Wheatley Heights,Bayshore

If your looking to buy a house i would go with west babylon( I went to west babylon) or west islip (good school districta and good neiborhoods)

copaige harbor is nice
so is amity harbor thats were i am
but most of the people who dont want to deal with the bad schools send there kids to St Johns (catholic school in west islip )
most of the other parts are not so nice

I couldn't have said it better myself, I work at the Copiague Public Library and it's a very very heavy immigrant area and has some very not too nice sections. West Babylon is ok and parts of Bayshore are ok too.

i lived in copiague for a year and didnt think it was bad but then again my family are polish immigrants and i dont mind that dynamic which is hardworking people opening shops trying to take care of there families. at one time all of new york was one giant immigrant town.

Please understand that I meant no offence, my whole mother's side is 'off the boat'...I only meant that there are different elements that make it a specific neighborhood. It would be like moving to little italy, and not speaking Italian! At least, that's my take on it.

Re: W.Babylon, Copiague, Wheatley Heights,Bayshore

I have lived in Copiague all my life. It isnt that bad. Certain parts arent great like any town. But I definetly would not compare it to wyndanch or Hempstead. I heard the schools are not that great. They were ok when I was there but I my daughter had her dance recital there and the security guard so that it is getting a little rough
