So much to tell!!! - good and bad news - crazy weekend! (long)

I haven't been on the computer since Thursday morning when I was going to leave work early to go get my marriage license. So here's what was supposed to happen this weekend:

Thursday: leave work at 2pm (in Connecticut), go to LI, drop off the dog at my parents house, go to Hempstead and get the Marriage License. Go to the catering hall at 7pm and pick out menu

Friday: Have the day off from work and go shopping with my mom for last minute items/gifts

Saturday: go to the city and pick up the wedding bands

Sunday: Have 'brunch' for my parents anniversary in LI

What really happened:

Thursday: leave work at 2pm to go get marriage license. Walk the dog before leaving him at my parents and BREAK MY FOOT!!!!!!!!!! while walking him

go get marriage license (yes with a broken foot, it did look very funny) and then go to Mercy hospital to get x-rays and make sure the foot was broken

go to the catering hall and pick out menu

Friday: stayed home with my foot elevated and iced

Saturday: stayed home with my foot elevated and iced (my dad went to the jeweler in the city (he works there) and brought the rings back to LI with him)

Sunday: went to 'brunch' which turned out to be my shower!!!! It was amazing... i'll post more information about it later... don't have pics yet

Monday: went to orthopedist to tell me to stay off of foot and it might take 6 weeks or possibly longer to heal...

MY WEDDING IS IN LESS THAN 7 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm being optimistic, but still stressful....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

it will all work out!!!
focus on the positives...like your shower, and getting the marraige certificate...and that you could have broken the whole leg......i'm trying to be optimistic here!!!

OMG, that's crazy!!! Just try to stay off that foot as much as possible, and always keep it elevated when you can. Hope it gets better soon... I'm glad you're optimistic about it.

And on the shower... sounds like everyone got you.

ETA: You're so lucky that despite your foot, you still got everything done (except the shopping).

wow-that's insane. how did you break it while walking the dog?

Just take amazingly good care of it, and you will be fine by the time the wedding comes.

Wow, that was a lot! So tricky to suprise you with the shower and your broken foot!! Did everyone have to come and talk to you at the shower?

I'm sure your foot will be fine, just make sure you take extra care of it

You'll be ok! And think about it, that big white dress would TOTALLY cover a cast If we didn't have obstacles, we'd never know how badly we really want things. Good luck!
