How do I deposit this check?

We got check in the mail, made out to 'Holly and Ronnie FH LAST NAME'

Ok, My Dads Name is Ronnie..not my FH...ANd my name is not yet FH LAST NAME...

And the kicker is, ,this guest is from FHs parents list.....they should know his name....

that is strange....we got some strange ones too......made out to my husband's first name and middle name only - no last name. So they thought his middle name was his last name. anyway, is there room on the check? what we did on a few of them was just to match the handwriting as best as possible and write in the correct last name

I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure as long as you sign the check and put your account number, they'll deposit it to the account.

i agree that they will probably cash the check....if you are both on the account, you should sign it

I had similar problems. i didn't take my husband's name so it is a constant battle.

We got checks made out to Mrs Jane and Mrs John Doe (2 Mrs?)

ok - but that's easy to deposit.

Then we got Mr. and Mrs. (Mr First and Middle name) (His Last name)

Now I have a huge issue with people assuming that women drop not only their last names but their first names. But I've just never heard of a groom taking the brides first name as this person who wrote the check assumed.

You might need to take your dad to the bank and have him show ID and endorse the check.

OMG we had 2 of those from our wedding and one of them that put our last name as my step-fathers Honestly I had my parents (it was their guest) call and explain and tell them that we were sending back their check and that we wanted to let them know because we didn't want to mess up their bookkeeping. Kind of left it as their option whether or not to send us another and of course they did. One person even sent more.

Just have both of you sign it with your real names and the bank should accept it. We got some weird ones too. Some were made out to mine and DH's middle names. They took everything.

I used to babysit for my high school boyfriends little brother, and his mother would always jokingly make out the check to me with his last name. I never really found it funny.

They don't care. Just have it signed on the back.

We don't have this problem. I have it reverse.

My middle name is my maiden name and my last name is his. (since we did the civil court thing) and we always just cash them.

You should be able to get away with it, but having your husband endorse the check and write for deposit only on the back.

The weirdest one I have seen so far is this: my old boss wrote the check out to my mother. Hello, I used to work for you!!! I had my mom put the check thru her account and give me the $$$. Such a hassle.

We actually did get sh!t from Commerce Bank (which shocked me!) ... but I think the teller we got was just being a PITA ...
