Re: home owners insurance deductable....poll
In the 12 years I've lived in my home I have filed 2 claims
ETA: The first claim actually was because a car went through our fence & that went through their insurance not my homeowners.

Re: home owners insurance deductable....poll
I went with the $1,000 deductible - it was a big difference in price. I figure anything less than that we will just absorb and pay for ourselves. Also, I don't want to be filing a lot of claims because I don't want to get cancelled. So far, I haven't filed anything.

Re: home owners insurance deductable....poll
We put in a claim but we had no fault (neighbor's car into our house) and the insurance company will sue her/her insurance to get the money back.
