Vent------ invitations are still not mailed out yet.......almost 2 month mark....

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH........ my mothers friend the calligrapher offered to do invitations for the gift, I said ok. I said that I want to have them mailed out end of August since the rsvp date is end of september( 26th)..... last monday i was told they should be done by the end of the week, friday comes and nothing, sunday and nothing, yesterday im told I can pick them up today.......at this point i was FUMING....today? in the evening HOW am I suppose to stuff them go to the post office which would be closed and mail them today(the LAST day of the month)......So I call up to say Im running a little late to pick them up and find out THEY ARENT READY that they 'should' be ready tomorow but its not definate...... im told that the ink RAN and there are spidervains and she is fixing it, and laughing on the phone as if im suppose to think this is all funny- i have had a headache for the last couple days because of this.....I say ' ive been starting to hyperventilate because the rsvp is september 26 and i wanted to give people a month to respond and I dont want people to think they are on the B list, she goes ' No dont worry, there is PLENTY of time, and when the people talk they will find out they all got them at the same time' Are you serious? and what happens to the people who dont know other people and think they are b list......The rsvp is 27 days away, i do not even have the envelopes in my possesion, I need to stuff them, go to the post office, get them weighted for stamps and do the hand canceling.. then it will take a couple of days for them to receive and a couple of days to respond..... they will only end up with them for 2-3 weeks to respond..... some gift.... all ive gotten is a headache....

Hey.. Im off this week.. want me to help stuff?? I can even take the time to drop them off at the post office and watch them hand cancel them if you want.

UGH Emily the same thing happen to me. But it was my Fault I had a stuffing party my friend April came over my mother came over and my DH and I sat and stuffed everything over a few glasses of wine. And Mike and I dropped them off at 3 am at the post office. Don't Stress Well don't stress to much!

I would not worry. We gave our guests less than two weeks to respond. I mailed them 6 weeks before the wedding. Everything was fine. No problems.

Unfortunately, that is what happens when we deal w/ 'friends' and 'family' - I've had a million offers for 'i can do this, I can get you thing discount. blah blah' - No thank you b/c if something goes wrong, or i get annoyed, w/ some random person I can open my mouth.........in your case, you're stuck biting your tounge and getting upset.
There's nothing you can do about it now, but I totally understand your frustration. -
Enlist the help of your mom and BMs if you can to help you stuff, and mail !!
But can I ask a question. - If your wedding date is 11/6, why is the RSVP so early ??

the hall needs to know one month in advance,which is oct 6, so i figured to make the rsvp a week in advance for the late people....

my mother does not understand this info... keeps going 'you send them out 6 weeks in advance'.....


UPDATE- i was able to pick them up today!.... i am skipping volleyball so that i can stuff them tonight! I had a little mini breakdown before i called to find out if they were ready, i was bracing myself for the idea of them not being ready.....at least i feel better now that i have them in my possesion....

.... and my mother tells me that the lady volunteered that she could stuff them with my mom then my invites would probably go out 1 week before the rsvp date
