Re: Anyone consider getting a day of wedding coordinator
I have been on the fence about this for a week or so. I think I have decided not to. I had wanted somebody just for the day of to make sure everything was in place properly. But then I realized - I am not going to trust anybody to do the final checking with my vendors, or to make sure everything is set up the way FH and I want it to be. It wouldnt take the stress out of it for me. Plus, we have a great wedding coordinator at the church who will make sure the church runs smoothly and picked great vendors! Its a tough decision, but I just don't feel comfortable delegating that responsibility and I dont think it is worth it monetarily unless you are able to delegate and let go. But thats just my opinion.

Re: Anyone consider getting a day of wedding coordinator
I was on the fence too, however, I have 1 yr and 10 months to get comfortable with the person (whom I have already met with and had a bunch of corrospondece via email). FH thinks it's worth the $, it means I am at ease and less headache for him. To quote him 'If this means you call her everyday and not me, then it's worth it' He's too funny!

Re: Anyone consider getting a day of wedding coordinator
I considered it. The person I considered also did my invitations, and I wound up having such issues with the invites due to her lack of organization that I realized I could not entrust this to anyone else.

Re: Anyone consider getting a day of wedding coordinator
I have been debating about this also. I did a search on the Brides Review and every bride was so glad they did it. Im still considering it.

Mine will be $1000. Said she does not take any money or contract signing until 1 yr be (I am an '06 bride). She said she will hold my date and in July 05, (1 yr b4) we can do p contract and give deposit.

Mine will be $1000.
Does she stay through the reception with you??
I got quotes much less than that because I am only looking for someone to see me through the cocktail hour.

Re: Anyone consider getting a day of wedding coordinator
She said she would be with us all day. She did not say specifically thru the reception , but made refernces, (ie: cake cutting, etc) that she would be. My impression was from wake-up and dress to go home and sleep (that's how I put it).

Thanks- I was just making sure... I see it making sense for people coordinating at a house of worship-- but, I am going to be at the Carltun 2 hours before the ceremony begins for pics, if not earlier-- I'll have my eye on everything, plus-- all these extra people I am already paying for better be worth it!

Re: Anyone consider getting a day of wedding coordinator
Just wanted to update you guys...I don't think I am going to use my initial selection for day of coordinator (if any at all). The last few emails we exchanged kind of made me second guess. We did not have a contract, however, I feel a little bad. We'll see. I may go with one, it all depends on how well things go tomorrow. We're going to book our hall, and want to see if they can handle the concerns I have, which is what made me want a day of coordinator to begin with!
