birth plans?

does everyone need to write up a birth plan? Is it really necessary? I mean I know there are certain things I would like, but the plans just seem like they contain so much more.

You can have something somewhat planned, but remember they most likely will change when the time comes!

I spoke to my doc before the labor and DH knew my wishes. I let him be my birth plan.
