Good News Girls!!, edited with question..

ETA: How did you get over the fear of driving on highways, parkways and most importantly the LIE.. those trucks make me nervous..

I bought a little car!!! YAY!!!

I went to see it this morning, get it checked out by the mechanic, and test drive, it's a used Geo Prism, and I'm so happy! I have to finalize my insurance papers by Monday then head to the DMV to get the plates, by Tues I should be on the road!!! It sorta needs TLC (a good cleaning, and some minor rust removal), but the mechanic says it has a good 3-4 years before anything major needs to be taken car of.. by then i hope to have a Brand new car, i just need a putt putt for now : )

Pookie - I think you and I should start a club!!!! I have a DIRE fear of highways!!! Whenever I am near a truck my hands sweat so bad they slide off the steering wheel!

I am not a good person to ask since our accident last year I am scared to drive although I do feel better when I am driving and I am in control rather than being a passenger....

I too avoid the LIE like the plague! I live in Queens and my fiance lives in Elmont and rather than get on the LIE to the Cross Island, I take local streets to the Cross Island!

Just practice - i used to be terrified - but now that I'm in VA for school I always have to take 95 or 81 to get home. Doesn't bother me too much, just make sure you're paying attention if there are lots of trucks around you. And stay away from 95 - it's the worst road EVER!
