suggestions on reception halls

My husband and i will be renewing our vows and will have the wedding we never had. we are looking for a place that holds a small party up to 50 people. that is 60 pp with tax and gratuities or less for a reception on july 3, 2006 which is a monday and that it also has space for a ceremony. another question that i have is how do i ask for prices? do i say is for a social event or what do isay? thanks.

Re: suggestions on reception halls

Well, I think it all depends on what type of reception you are having. If you want it to be just like a wedding reception, then I guess you would tell the halls that. Where would you like suggestions for, Nassau, Suffolk, Queens?

Re: suggestions on reception halls

mainly nassau and queens, close to the city and yes it would be like a wedding reception without a lot of extras like a full cocktail hour

Re: suggestions on reception halls

I am getting married at Verdi's of Westbury and they have a lovely room that holds up to 70 people. When I met with them there certain things that I did not want. I told them upfront and they were totally fine with it and adjusted the price accordingly. They will usually ask you as well what you are looking for.

Another nice place is the Sterling in Bethpage.

The Coral House also might be able to accomodate the size of your party (Baldwin, NY).

Hope this helps!

Re: suggestions on reception halls

one more thing-tell them it is an anniversary dinner where you would like to renew your vows, if you don't want to use the word 'wedding'.

Good luck!

Re: suggestions on reception halls

Try Westbury Manor! They have a room/area for smaller parties as well. And it's BEAUTIFUL!

If you are having a Monday night reception, the prices should be around your target.

Re: suggestions on reception halls

Definitely try Larkfield Manor in East Northport and Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst.

CLM is on the water and I had my E-party there in the Dockside room for less than that price on a Sat in April 03.
