ok, here's my 2 cents

1. no gift certificates -- you gotta work for this one

2. i think that when the person send their assigned person a gift, they should include their identity in the card. In other words, if I get you, you won't know it's me till I send the gift

Ok, first, I'd like to add myself to the list and second, I think that when we send the gift, we should send a hint as to who we are and then we should all post our guess on a thread as to who our secret santa was.

1 - no gift certificates ( which for me will be hard since I really dont know any of you)

2 - I would rather guess Like make it a guessing game of sorts I dont know maybe just a lame idea

i like this alot, but i think that with the volume of people we have doing this, it may get too complicated. The thread will be chaotic with people shouting guesses left and right. This way is a bit simpler.

But i'm up for it

I think the guessing could be fun but I think like the WHO ON LIW I WANT TO MEET & the like, we could end up hurting feelings of someone who gave us a wonderful gift but may not be as regular a poster so clues may not help ... Dunno ... JMO

Hmm, maybe if we keep it as a clue to our chat names on LIW? I think I'm a big child because I love to guess things like this. But if we don't do it that way, it's ok I'll still like getting a present

We can do that... but maybe give only a few days to guess, then we would have to FM them our name after the time limit.

i thought the no gift certificates would work i think its more fun to have to shop for an actual gift. i like the guessing thing alot but i dont want anyones feelings to be hurt so i think maybe we should just include the name in a card/ when we all receive them we have to post who our santa was and post a pic of what we received. if anyone comes up with a better idea please let us know

i love all the ideas..but for simplicty purposes and so me and jan dont lose our minds lol...i think maybe we should include it when we send our gifts...cause i would love to guess!! but there r alot of pple involved that dont know each other that well :)

Please ADD me. I would like to be a part. we did this last year but with ornaments. We did not know who the person was until we got our ornaments.

Just a suggestion but I did the Secret Santa last year and they way we did it was

We started a thread with things, we like, interests etc..

Then we created an email address like yoursecretsanta@.... and contacted the person we were buying for so we can get more info on what they like, etc... just to narrow it down

We should also set a date as to when we send out the gifts so that way everyone gets their gift around the same time.
