How does leaving a deposit work?
Ladies,I am a complete NEWBIE!!! I am going to look at some places this weekend.
If I find a place I like but am unsure if I want to leave a deposit, but am like 90% sure I want to book it, will they hold a date with out any$$????
Also, if I do leave a deposit, can you get it back if I change my mind within a certain amount of time?
Thanks.....

Re: How does leaving a deposit work?
Hey there & welcome. Some places may hold the date without a deposit for a day or 2, but most will not. It also depends on the time of year. We got married in January, so not too many places were booked up, but in a spring summer or fall wedding, it may be a bit more of a problem. Each hall will have their own procedure, the best thing to do is ask.

Thanks.DO you know if most places will refund your deposit if you change your mind?
Also, how much do you usually have to leave for a deposit?
Sorry for all the questions.

Re: How does leaving a deposit work?
Most deposits, if not all, are non refundable so you don't want to book unless you are sure

Technically, in NYS you have 72 hours to recind a contract, but good luck trying to enforce that without going to court
