What's the best thing that's happened to you on LIW??

And no, 'meeting all of you' responses!!!

Okay, this is one that I use to justify my being on LIW 7 months AFTER my wedding when DH starts to make fun of me...

DH and I had planned to move to London the Wednesday after our wedding, but I needed to get my visa straightened out before we went, but of course, for that I needed our marriage certificate. I knew that the clergy usually sent it to the town office, but I wanted to see if I could do the leg work myself to save us the time. So, I called the town office and the girl there told me that it couldn't be done that way, that they had to receive the certificate from the clergy. I was so upset, so I posted a vent on LIW. A few minutes later, FORUM MAIL. It was Drmnblnd - she was the girl I spoke to in the town office!!!! Anyway, she took care of everything for us and saved us a nightmare!!! She's wonderful!
and it made every minute I spent on LIW, neglecting my work worthwhile

Was just thinking about it...anyone else?

Us LIW gals need to stick together! That is a great story! What a hassle it would have been if you didn't post your vent

I think the best thing that's happened to me is the outpouring of support as I continue to deal with my depression and being alone and away from NY from all of you. I have found old friends and made new ones....in the online world and in the real world.

omg what an awesome story!!!

for me it would hafta be when my ex and i broke up, i was beyond devastated and 2 steps from practically jumping off a bridge..every1 on here helped me so much, with supportive posts, and advice filled fms..it was amazing, and there r some pple on here who i really look at as amazing friends and practically family even tho i have never even met them!

I don;t have a particular story, but I think that for the most part everyone here has been really encouragin and helpful, and they'll answer the stupidest of questions, and all of your posts when I was afraid I was pg, when i couldn't tell anyone else, really helped me get through it. So I appreciate everyoe's support.

LIW has helped me from feeling completely overwhelmed with the whole wedding process. When I started out, I had no clue what I was doing, no idea how much (how VERY much) things cost, and how I could possibly manage to pull everything off. Now, whenever I'm unsure of how to do something, I ask my LIW girls and when I've annoyed FH by asking his opinion on everything and anything wedding-related, I know I can always post a question and a poll and you will all help me out. Now, I feel like I know so much more about weddings and it's great to be able to pass that on to some of the newbies.

As for my buddies on NWR, you guys are really awesome. It's been a little slow for me at work these first few weeks and I think I would've gone out of my mind if I didn't have all of you to chat with.

Originally, this site was an invaluable resource for me as I planned my wedding, since I knew nothing about LI.

But overall (and this I never expected this from a website) I appreciate the sense of community we have with one another and that we truly to support our online friends. During the amount of time I've been on here, I've seen quite a turnover of 'members' and many ups and downs, but I really like how LIWs is these days.. there are some really terrific, diverse people on here who are intelligent, funny and supportive. The 'regular NWR daytimers' that I've gotten to know rather well I do truly consider friends..

There is no other place in my life I can go and say'i need hugs, I'm sad or down' and will get such a caring, loving response from a group of ladies and men I've technically never met!

I cannot think of one exact moment that stands out per se, but I guess just hearing your online buddies say'i missed you' if you are gone for a few days really means the most..

Oh yea, and that Yankee/Met bet I made with Don will ALWAYS stand out in my mind as one of my more , err, 'memorable' moments in LIWs history

The FM *relationship* I had with Marcela1654 when Tim's sister was in the hospital and dying less than two months before our wedding.

She picked up on something in a post around the time of my shower and while Tim was in CT staying with his sister in the hospital, I was home alone but had all these supportive, caring FM's to read & respond to.

Helped me to get away fom my work that is drives me nuts, count??

I have met so many great people on here - but I have to say because of this site I met a group of girls who I have become really close with in such a short time - it is amazing. Our husbands have all met and we have all become good friends. When I tell people the way we met - I get unusual stares and people think I am a freak but these girls are the best and true friends. And they know who they are!!!!!!

ok besides the great friends i have made, whether it has been in person or via FM / posts - LIW has been a wonderful place to come to when i need a distraction at work.

Planning a wedding from out of state isn't exactly easy, so I'm so thankful for everyone here and all the advice, reviews, and questions answered.
But the best thing, besides what you all have mentioned already, is that at one of the LIW GTGs (that Ron and Liz had) I won a gift certificate to Bridal Reflections for $400!!! I bought my gorgeous veil and purse with that gift certificate.
