Sept. 11th Bourne Mansion Review-Unprofessional pics added

Where to begin? Barely even remember the whole night, but I do remember we had so much fun, it was so amazing, more than we had expected and everything we invisioned and more.

Be prepared to be nervous, excited, happy beyond belief and completely overwhelmed, among many other emotions...OK, enough BS...on to the good stuff...

The weather was excellent, absolutely no complaints there.

Bourne Mansion... Well, all I can say is that I hope to be invited to a wedding there someday. They did such a fantastic job. We chose to have the Grand Cocktail Reception which is basically a 5 hour party with stations.
Our cocktail hour consisted of 4 stations- raw bar with clams/oysters and shrimp, crepes, sushi, and antipasto along with about 7 passed hors d'oevres.
The 'dinner' was carving station, chafing dishes, asian and pasta station.
People raved about the food, there was a ton, it all looked and smelled delicious. I tried a little, but there was no time to eat and your stomach is in knots all day.
Dessert was the chocolate fountain which so awesome and everyone loved it. The cake was from Audrey's which was delicious and various pastries on the tables.
Maitre d' was Isais (sp?) and he was so on the ball. Bridal attendant was Justine and she was amazing as well.
No detail was left untouched, the service was impeccable and I do not have one complaint.

Re: My Sept. 11th Bourne Mansion Review-Long

Dress/Veil-Bridal Accents in East Hills.
I loved my dress and the alterations were excellent. It is a small store, not overly priced dresses and I never had any services issues. I personally didn't care for the owner of the store but I didn't have to deal with her much so it worked out. My bridesmaids were allowed to wear whatever they wanted so that is that.
I bought Stuart Weitzman shoes at Jildor, danced all night in them, I didn't realize my feet were in pain until I took them off at 2AM. They were great.

Flowers-Pedestals (worked with Joe)
Another Wow... the flowers were gorgeous, again exceeding our expectations.
The chuppah, cocktail hour pieces, centerpieces, everything, beautiful...
Here is a pic of the bo-k's...

Hair- Colleen(works from home, used to be at at Nubest then did the Newsday bride section)
She was amazing and made all the girls and my mother look beautiful. Here is a pic of my hair, not great, but you get the idea.

I wore hair pins that I bought from www.amysbridalaccessories.com

Re: My Sept. 11th Bourne Mansion Review-Long

Make up-Jacqueline Nicole
She was as great as expected, we all looked amazing if I may say so myself...
I had airbrush foundation, lasted the whole night through me dancing and sweating for 6 hours, it was perfect.

Music--After Midnight...the best part of the party of course...
We used a band from a Westchester company(GrooveEvents), not too popular here on LI Weddings, but I highly recommend them to anyone still looking for a real motown, r and B, lots of soul/disco band. They had the whole house rocking the entire night, I can't say enough good things about them and the owners of the company, so easy to work with and very accomadating.
They also provided my 4 piece quarter for the ceremony and a 3 piece jazz ensemble for cocktail hour.
I wish I could insert an mp3 sample for you...

Photography--12th Night (Dom and Geraldine)
Obviously I won't know until we get the proofs but they were on time, professional and great to work with. Geraldine stayed until almost the very end of the party, barely knew she was there, excited to see the results.

Video--Mittermax
Same thing, anxiously awaiting the video since we can barely remember anything!
He was unobtrusive, on time and professional.

Re: My Sept. 11th Bourne Mansion Review-Long

Limos/Buses
Classic Coach (worked with Christine for Limos and someone I do not remember for buses)
Limos were on time, clean and drivers were great.
I hired 2 55 passenger vans for my 110 out of town guests and everything was smooth sailing. Everyone said the buses were huge and beautiful and they felt like rock stars. I highly recommend them.

Favors/Grooms cake (i used at Rehearsal dinner)... Dortoni's.
They were fantastic! I had monogrammed black and white cookies as a favor and they were like huge slabs of cake with amazing icing that were fresh and delicious. A nice touch that people had never seen.
The grooms cake was an awesome fudge and vanilla buttercream yankee stadium cake that was a big hit with my husband, he loved it.
Here is a pic...

Calligraphy... A friend's mother does it on the side, she is amazing, all hand done, did my placecards and invitations, FM for details.

Invitations and thank you notes-a woman who works out of her home in Roslyn. She is great, FM for details.

Rehearsal Dinner-Restaurant Marios in Hauppauge.
Great food and service, private room downstairs, great time had by all.

Re: My Sept. 11th Bourne Mansion Review-Long

Out of town Guests...
Hyatt Wyndwatch in Hauppauge (worked with Connie)
We had over 55 rooms blocked off, they were very accomadating, no problem. IMO, it's the nicest hotel around there and the golf course next door was a great thing too.

I don't know what I am forgetting, feel free to FM, reply, whatever.

thanks for looking! will post proofs as soon as I get them, can't wait!

Re: My Sept. 11th Bourne Mansion Review-Long

Thats so great to hear!! I am getting married at Bourne on 10/15 (2 weeks and counting). I am having a formal sit down dinner there and I was wondering about the food. Can you tell me a little about the chocolate fountain and what you paid and whether I should add it. Thanks so much for the review!!!
