FW could use a recommendation for a hair salon in Queens
Does anyone know a decent hair place in Queens that isn't outrageously priced but does good work?
I believe she needs her hi-lites fixed (or whatever they call it when the hair starts to grow in showing the roots).
Something in the Bayside are would be preferred... but I am open to just about anything at this point as long as its in Queens.
Thanks in advance!

Something in Nassau county may not be bad either as long as its somewhat close to queens... (Floral Park, New Hyde Park, Great Neck, Manhasset, etc.)

Metamorphasis on Francis Lewis Blvd did excellent hair when I was a bridemaid a few months ago.

Re: FW could use a recommendation for a hair salon in Queens
I just switched to Micciche Salon at 73-01 Austin Street (at Ascan Avenue). 718-544-1246
Patty cut my hair and did a fabulous job.
I can get the name of a the colorist there, one of my friends was really happy with her.
They are very reasonable - it was $55ish for my hair cut and my friend paid $115ish for cut & color.

Kragen's on Franny Lew is really good as well, I used to get my hair done their by either Lauren or Micki. I don't work in Queens anymore, so I stopped going there, but they were the best!

Marco's on 101st Avenue in Ozone Park is a little high priced, but they do great work
A Cut Above in Elmont does good work and is MUCH cheaper.

Christie and Co is in Bay Terrace (Bayside). They are a little on the expensive side but I think they always do a good job on my highlights.

Re: FW could use a recommendation for a hair salon in Queens
I used this guy Ben for my highlights at Cassanova in Astoria- they are on 30th ave between 33/34 or 34/35.. forget which. The place isn't so nice to the eye but Ben is AMAZING- I send everyone there and they love him.
He charged me $125 but it was for blonde and brown- so it was more complicated than just highlights.. he did an amazing job.
If she is willing to schlep to Massapequa- Wendy at Details on Merrick Rd is an excellent colorist.

I get my hair cut here and I have always been pleased. Intercession on Francis Lewis is also good- I went there till the woman who cut my hair left to open her own place out on in Nassau.

Tell her to go to the salon on the corner of Willets Point Blvd and Frannie Lew in Whitestone. The name escapes me right now, but I got my hair done there when I lived there and they are great.

Re: FW could use a recommendation for a hair salon in Queens
There's also a salon right on Middle NEck Road in GN that's awesome. Bxgell2 comes all the way from Philly to get her hair done there. Why am I senile right now? New Image maybe?
