Do-it-Yourself Ideas for Crafty Brides

Does anyone have any ideas for items that the bride can make herself (i.e. favors, menu cards, centerpieces, etc..), or websites that have ideas?
Many thanks!
nicole

Re: Do-it-Yourself Ideas for Crafty Brides

I am intending on making my save the dates, menu's, programs, placecards, unity candles and rice packets myself. I also want to make little things like decorate the baskets for the programs and rice packets for the church and make 2 big goody/gift/favor bags for the kids (I only have 2 coming & they are in my BP).

Good luck!

Re: Do-it-Yourself Ideas for Crafty Brides

Your best bet is to go through the bridal magazines. That always inspires me. Depending on your theme, you can create just about anything. Im creating programs, cry packs, placecards, table numbers, and menus. There is also a board on crafts that might also help you out.

Re: Do-it-Yourself Ideas for Crafty Brides

I am making my own menus.

Making my own programs - just designed them with paper from uprint.com bought rubber stamps and a stencil for glitter paint to dress them up.

Ordered my favors but ordered all the boxes/wrapping supplies to do ourselves from papermart.com - fantastic prices.

Making birdseed packs ourselves.

Putting together OOT gift bags and bathroom baskets ourselves.

Addressed our Invites on our printer.

Making place cards (copying a photo I saw on here) printing table number on car and then name on vellum to lay over the card, it this is too difficult I'll print names on clear labels and stick on card.

Re: Do-it-Yourself Ideas for Crafty Brides

the website is
www.diybride.com ( must register on site)

Heres another site
Wedding crafts

I am making my own invites menus, place card holders, centerpieces, ribbon wands for church, progrmas( just printing) , cry packs for church, and baskets to hold stuff.

Looking around at websites helps a lot...Martha Stewart Weddings always has a lot of DIY stuff.

This site has diy invite examples

INVITES

And this site has DIY templates for everything or everylist you could need...

Templates

Hope it helps.

Re: Do-it-Yourself Ideas for Crafty Brides

I made my menus and they came out great. I typed them up on word, downloaded some fonts for our monogram and then bought patterned paper from Michaels and cut them in half, it was inexpensive and they really matched the reception place setting etc.
