iPods?

My birthday is coming up and FH would like to get me an iPod (yay!). We can't decide whether to get the mini (because it comes in pink) or the regular sized ones that hold over twice as many songs (1000 vs. 5000). I was wondering if any of you have experience with iPods and what your recommendation would be? Thanks!

Re: iPods?

i love my ipod 15gb. it was soooo easy to set up and easy to use. i say go for the 20gb or 15, if they still make it. the 15 is the same price as the mini and holds soo many more songs that it is worth it. the mini holds 1000 songs, which may seem like a lot at first, but how many cd's do you have? you will want room for everything and the regular size is just worth it to me.

Re: iPods?

Get the bigger one! It's only about $50 bucks more and you get so much more memory.

Re: iPods?

I would go for the larger Ipod (or the Dell Jukeboxes are good & on sale right now).

I don't think the mini's are that much smaller in size or price to warrant giving up all the memory.

Re: iPods?

It sounds like the bigger one is the way to go! I was reading in some magazine that there's a place where you can get your laptops and iPods custom-painted, so if I really want it pink, I can always do that I guess

Re: iPods?

I have a mini! I LOVE it. It's more than enough space for me and it's MUCH smaller and cuter and more lightweight. I have a little amrband for it, it fits in the pocket of my jeans I LOVE my mini!

Re: iPods?

I would get the mini. The small size is very appealing.

Plus most people don't know this... but when they say the mini can hold about 1000 songs... thats assuming playing back at 128k bit rate which is pretty much standard.

If you do indeed fill it up.... you can always tell your syncing software to downgrade the quality to 96k or even 64k and u will be able to hold more music on there.

All the songs on my iPod i have set at 96k and frankly i doubt anybody on here will be able to tell the difference between 96k and 128k quality (especially when listening using the headphones that come with the iPod).

Re: iPods?

Yeah 1,000 songs is really a lot! And if you do fill it, you cna just take some of fnad put mroe on, the software is SO easy!!! To put a chole CD on it, you basically connect the iPod (I have a dock), and put the CD in..and that's it. It's so quick and easy. i LOVE it. i have the blue one. The bigs ones are just too clunky.

Re: iPods?

I have the mini and love it. 1000 songs was plenty for me. But FH is much more into music than me so I got him the bigger one.

Re: iPods?

Get the Mini - it's smaller in size which is good if you use it to go jogging. It'll take you long enough to go through 1,000 songs.
