does invite ink color match calligraphy on envelopes??

this is a spinoff of the 'outer envelope thread...

If you chose brown ink for all the invites and envelopes, what color are you addressing the outers??

If I have someone calligraphy, do they in brown ink??

We chose brown because it complemented the invitation. (The fonts were in sage and terracotta- hard to see on the computer.) Brown seemed fall-like.

Etiquette says 'black ink.' But sometimes you have to break the rules. It's up to you. Don't let it drive you too crazy.

I agree that everything should be in brown, especially if the return address on outer envelope is brown. Black would look funny

We had brown invites, we did brown calligraphy on the outer envelopes as well.

We did brown ink calligraphy as well. Came out really beautiful and matched the invitation really well.
