Engagement ring insurance?

Engagement ring insurance?
I have a homeonwners policy with Liberty Mutual with a jewlery rider - costing me $805 a year total. $514 of that is just for for earrings and a couple of bracelets. With the new ring, it will be at least $1100 a year total.I thought Chubb offered a stand alone jewelry policy? I called an agent and he said I would have to change my homeowner's policy to Chubb? I have my car insurance with Liberty Mutual too and don't want to change.
If it's cheaper, I planned to just move all my jewelry to a separate policy since my homeowner's would be like $300 a year w/o the jewelry rider.
Any suggestions?
Who is everyone using for e-ring insurance?
Any stand alone jewlery policies?
Thanks much.

Re: Engagement ring insurance?
I work for State Farm.I can give you a quote if you would like. Let me know what the appraisal is for. You dont have to have any additional, like a Homeowners. Its a seperate policy and tends to be cheaper alone. Let me know.

Re: Engagement ring insurance?
FH added engagement ring insurance to our renter's policy with Traveler's. I don't think it was that much extra per year. I'm really glad we have it though--they paid us back the full $1400 we spent having the ring 'restored' (it's an antique and the platinum setting had gotten a little weak).

Re: Engagement ring insurance?
$200/year with State Farm. It's aside from my homeowners. You are better off getting an insurance appraisal so the cost of your insurance will be lower. The more the ring appraises for the higher the cost of the insurance. Of course the place you got it from will appraise it on the high side.

Re: Engagement ring insurance?
Mine is with USAA, under our homeowners, but a separate clause and additional cost. It runs $140 a year, and I just had to send them the GIA certificate.

$150/yr!!! Whoa! Where do you live. I live in Brooklyn and my insurance is way more than that without the e-ring.

Re: Engagement ring insurance?
I bought a renter's insurance policy through Allstate and the ring is a rider as 'scheduled personal property' and everything imaginable that could happen to the ring is covered. It was fairly inexpensive.

I'm w/ State Farm, and it's about $140/year - it's a Personal Article Policy. I also have all of my other insurance with them as well.

Re: Engagement ring insurance?
I live in Brooklyn too and pay a lot less than that for my ring insurance (though of course it depends on the value the ring is appraised for). I have a jewelry rider on my State Farm homeowners policy.

Re: Engagement ring insurance?
I have chubb too but my ring isn't nearly that much for insurance and I live in NYC. I would call another CHubb agent and get another quote. I would give you mine but our policy is in the vault.

Is this $225/year for cash value or do they 'replace' the jewelry? Also, I live in Brooklyn, NY - is this a NY quote?
Liberty Mutual gets $514 /year for the $15,400 worth of jewelry. If I add my e-ring - that is an additional $603?
