MY 10/23/04 Wedding Review
Review of my October 23, 2004 weddingFirst of all I have to say that my wedding day was all had dreamt it would be. From the look on DH’s faceto the very last person who said, “Good-Bye” to us that night...it was perfect. Please bare with the fact that my review is long. Feel free to FM me and let me
know if I can be of any more help with vendors.

Rehearsal- Christ The King Church: D
Our wedding planners were horrifically terrible. There was no priest to be found. The husband of the couple
had a cold and was sniffling on my BP. I had to line up the whole BP and family where I wanted them because
the coordinator had no clue what she was doing. The couples famous line was, “That’s not how we normally
do it” or “That’s now how it’s usually done.” Well this is how I want it done!!! They were very unhelpful and they annoyed me everytime they said that.
Rehearsal Dinner- Pomodorino’s: A+
The food was wonderful, the garden room look
exquisite. Everything went smoothly and according to plan. The service was above and beyond. Our parents and BP loved their gifts and are still talking about them.
October 23, 2004
Hair- Christopher Street: A
I went for two trials before the wedding day. I had one trial with my hair up and one with my hair down. They were very helpful in telling me which looked better. I didn’t give them an A+ only because I thought if I had a second trial it would be free if I booked them already and it turned out to be untrue.
The day of the wedding my hair didn’t move. I took out atleast 50 bobby pins….I guess that what you have to do to look beautiful.
Makeup- Merle Norman (Amy): A+
I was in a bind when I called up Amy at the Merle Norman studio on 110 in Melville. She was available for my date and after my first trial I booked her immediately. She made the time to meet with my sister, cousin and mom for their trials. We all looked beautiful to day of.
Other makeup notes- Christopher Street: C (the lady didn’t listen to me and put me in shades of pink and I looked like a clown)
Clinique at Macy’s: F (the lady NEVER returned my phone calls after I booked her for my wedding. I
cancelled her a month before the date and I will never buy Clinique again)
Florist- Flowers By Burton: A
Our flowers supposed to be delivered at 10:30am and they showed up at 9:30am. They were so fresh and pretty. All the flowers were beautiful fall colors.
The sales people were always very helpful. The only reason for not giving them an A+ was because my bo-k was wrapped in lace and it unraveled before I got to chuch. Also, my ivory roses turned brown before the
reception and a rose broke out of my bo-k while in church.
Photographer/Videographer: Proline
During the wedding day: A
Pre wedding help: C
On the 23rd our photographer and videographer were a half hour earlier than expected which was a good thing
because then we were finished with the pictures by 2pm. They were friendly and nice through-out the day.
Pre-wedding- They were of no help when you called on the phone. We drove to Franklin Square to meet with our photographer and it took us 1 ½ hours to get there to sit with him for 15 minutes. I’m not saying I wanted coffee and tea but it could have been a longer
meeting. Our Engagement pictures were nothing to talk about. They “threw” in an 8x10 for free. We figured with all the $$$ we were paying we would get something else for free but we didn’t. Hopefully our pictures,
album and video will be better than their customer service.
DJ- LISOUND: A++++
We couldn’t have gotten a better DJ. Chris was our MC and he was wonderful. Before we were announced into our reception there was a slide show of our baby puictures then pictures of us together. Our parents
and guests are still talking about it. Throughout the reception the DJ took pictures then displayed them on the screen which they all got a kick out of. At the end of the night we got all the pictures. They were BY FAR our BEST vendor.
Reception Hall- Sheraton: A-
The only reason why I gave them a “minus” was because our wedding cake was supposed to be chocolate, it was vanilla. The roses were no set up on the cake how I had asked and they lost my unity candle and toasting
flute box. Don’t get me wrong the room was set up perfectly and everything from the cocktail hour to the Viennese hour it was just wonderful. My guests are still raving about the food.
Dresses (MOB, BM)- The Wedding Center: B+
The dresses came in a whole month earlier. The only reason for the B was because we didn’t use their seamstress and when we went to our family dressmaker she had to take apart the WHOLE Bridesmaid dress because they were made wrong.
Wedding Gown- Paradise Bridal: B-
I was lucky they had a long-sleeved dress because they were hard to find. For the first fitting they couldn’t find my slip that I already paid $75.00 for. The 2nd fitting was scheduled for 6:30pm, they called me at 5pm to tell me my dress wouldn’t be ready until that
Monday. I pushed for a fitting that night and they finally gave me an appointment at 8pm. When I got there my slip wasn’t hemed and my beading was all wrong. The third fitting the dress still didn’t fit right and there was a hole in my sleeve. Upon pickupthe hole was still in my sleeve and I had to wait a ½ hour to have them sew it.
Limo- M&V: A
They were ontime the day of and with our trip to the airport for our Honeymoon. I didn’t like how they told us what to tip but other than that I would recommend their services.
Tuxedos- VIP Tuxedos: C-
Our first meeting with the salesman was fine. Upon pickup it went all wrong. Both GMs tuxes didn’t fit. When my dad went to try his jacket on he ordered the wrong size then tried to blame my father for telling him the wrong size to order. HELLO? Why do they have
measuring tape??? FOG’s pants were too long upon pickup. I would not recommend their services because my whole family wasn’t happy or pleased.
Honeymoon- LAS VEGAS: A
SOUTHWEST: A-
BELLAGIO: A+
MYSTERE: A
We arrived on Monday, October 25th in a limo at MacArthur airport to take Southwest. Southwest got an A- because the 5 hr trip to Vegas took 5 hrs and 45 minutes. We only got a snackpack with no movie. I knew
about all of this because my sister works for
Southwest and I take them all the time but when you’re on your honeymoon and you want to get to the place your going you need something to keep you busy.
Las Vegas was so cold for the week we were there. That’s why they got only an “A”. It didn’t get any hotter than 65 degrees and it was 45 degrees at night. I had to buy sweatpants and a sweatshirt because I
brought capris.
Bellagio was nothing short of class. It was wonderful from the dancing fountains to our lakeview room. Anything we needed we got. We ordered room service a couple of times and it was delivered fresh and hot. Our view from our room was breathtaking
Mystere by Cirque de Soliel was a wonderful show. We had seen “O” at the Bellagio, 2 yrs prior and I must
say that “O” was better than Mystere. Mystere had such colors and talent. It was an amazing show. I recommend it highly.
Pictures are on the BHB board
