NWR: Operation Shoebox to help support our troops this holiday season

As some of you may know I teach History and Economics to high school students. This was in my mailbox this morning. I e-mailed the contact person because it looks like the deadline for donations is today. I'm hoping I can still do this with my classes.

Basically the CSEA Region 1 Veteran's Committee is collecting the following to make goodie boxes for our troops (all travel size):

shoe boxes
ivory soap
sun screen
oreo cookies- indiv packs
disposable razors
hard candies- sugar free too
toilet paper
magazines
generic holiday cards with a personal message for each box
lip balm
indiv-small kleenex
shaving cream
baby wipes
gum
baby powder
playing cards

We are all spending so much on our weddings and while we deserve to I think it's important to think of those fighting for our freedom overseas. They endure so much on a daily basis and it feels good to give back.
