Re: A GOOD EVERYDAY SET OF DISHES????

we picked a set of Pfaltzgraff dishes to register for (we didn't do fine china since we inherited a set from my grandmother)...they are big, heavy, and DH loves them! Unfortunately he picked a pettern that was only a test pattern so we don't have all the components, but we have enough!

Re: A GOOD EVERYDAY SET OF DISHES????

We also have pfaltzgraff, I think its called Rio, it has blue lines around a cream-colored center.

We've had them about 4 years and they held up well.

To be honest, I like plain white big plates. If you are concerned about them holding up, you can easily replace plain white.

ETA: I LOVE this store for plates:

Fish's Eddie

Re: A GOOD EVERYDAY SET OF DISHES????

I got mine from Fortuneoff, we actually got them as an Engagement gift and have been using them for about 6 months now and they are great( I'm not sure who makes them). I was curious about scratching so I tried ( Yes Im dumb) to scratch them with a steak knife and NOTHING..so I recommend them as non scratchable...lol

Re: A GOOD EVERYDAY SET OF DISHES????

we registered for Fiestaware. we wanted heavier dishes that would be long lasting, easy to replace if we broke them, and of course brightly colored. i know they last well because my parents have been using a set of fiestaware from about 10-12 years ago... not to mention the fact that they are pretty inexpensive.

I chose Lenox Butler's Pantry for my every day dishes. I registered for them at Macys and Fortunoff.
