I was told highlights with the foil are ok after the 1st trimester. I held off during pregnancy just to be safe.

Ive had my hair highlighted at 4 wks, 13 wks and 26 wks... now Im done till after the baby comes. My girl uses veggie dye. No peroxide touches my head. So far so good!

I just had my highlights done on Saturday and I'm at 11 weeks. Doctor said it was okay, so I did it!!

I, too, was told that highlights are fine after th first trimester. They dont recommend single process coloring because the color touches your scalp, and it doesnt with highlighting

I'm seeinf a high risk doc who said this has been studied for years and there has never been any evidence that the dye effects the fetus. She told me coloring every 4-6 weeks is fine.
