Why did you pick your wedding date?

My is Sept 23, 2005.

I picked it because I like September... not too hot, and not too cold. And I wanted a Friday (cheaper and gives us the rest of the weekend to be excited and then leave for our trip). I picked the 23rd because I didn't want it too close to the Jewish holidays, not that I am a very good Jewish person because I'm getting married on a Friday, anyway. Didn't want the family to complain. Oh well.

We originally wanted to pick October 8th because of Columbus Day weekend but then there was a problem with the church so we picked October 15th and then Brian's sister told us it was Brian's mothers birthday. She pasy away of cancer when Brian was only 3. So that is really special. I know she will be there with us in spirit.

Plus we picked October because we love fall and wanted the air to be a little crisp and not to be sweating all day.

2 reasons why we picked Nov. 6th..

1. That was the only date available other than October 31st at the Fox Hollow and we def didn't want a Halloween wedding.
2. Under Hindu tradition the Pundit (aka Priest) must approve the date...the stars & the moon are suppose to agree if we are meant to be married that day..

2 reasons why we picked Nov. 6th..

1. it was After football season, but before baseball season
2. it's a holiday weekend, so people could enjoy more, not having to worry about work
3. since Feb is cheaper, we could invite almost Everyone- we both have huge families and friends, and didnt want to pick and choose

My original date was September 4 (sunday of labor day weekend) figured everyone would be off that day....but any place I wanted was already booked at night for that date....went to MPI and they had a Sat night open and she offered it to me for the same price as Sunday (musta been a cancellation) plus it's two days before my aunt and mom's birthday (they're identical twins)

I wanted June beacause its nice out but not too hot, I would have did May but my sister got married in that month. Then we had to pick a day it had to be friday because I wanted a night wedding and Saturday is so expensive. So I had two days to pick from because I only wanted to get married on an even numbered day (Im wierd about numbers) so I picked earlier in the month so we were away from prom and stuff like that. A little strange, I know!

Well, I am a teacher, so I didn't want to get married during the school year and I thought that it would be cool to have it the night before the fourth of July because it would feel like a Saturday night, but we would get to pay Sunday prices

We picked that day because we both decided that the Spring would be best... Not to hot or cold... Flowers are just bluming... and it was before hurricane season... and we wanted to take a cruise...

well our original date was 9/10/05 which we picked, then I decided to go back to school and a few other things happened that made us to decide to change and that was the last saturday open at your place without moving the wedding up by months.

We were looking into getting married in either September or October, 2005. All of the places we looked at where booked on Saturdays. Larkfield Manor had Saturday August 20th (my parent's wedding date) and September 10th and 17th. We flipped a coin for the September dates and I won with the 17th!!

I am a summer person but I didnt want it too hot for my wedding. Plus our dating anniversary is in June.

May 21st for me. The original date I wanted was the last Saturday in April next year (April 30th). But because my church is hosting other churches next year on the date, it wasn't available. The next available date was May 21st.

I think the fall has pretty colors. I didn't want a winter weddding since I have family in Florida. THe cold is hard for them. I needed to do it before the Jewish New Year or else I wouldn't be able to getting married until the end of October.

I really wanted a Saturday night summer wedding, either June or July. My first choice date was June 18--because I liked the way it sounded. Unfortunately, even though we booked our hall in Jan 04 for summer 05, every Saturday night in June was already booked and the only dates they had left in July were the 16th and the 30th. When we called them back a week later to book, the only date left was the 30th!! I guess Glen Island is a popular place.

11/19/05 - we were initially going to get married 4/23/05 b/c with passover that weekend my FI has the week off from school. But the Riviera was booked. We didn't want the summer b/c it can be way too hot. We then tried to work with the school schedule so that he doesn't have to take too much time off, so 11/19 right before Thanksgiving it is.

2. Not on kentucky derby day
3. Not on preakenss day
4. Not during Mother's Day weekend

I knew I wanted February since we met in february and got engaged in February.. plus we knew we would be on a tight budget and having the wedding off season would let us have a nicer place with what we could afford.
Feb. was hard b/c its a short month and one sunday I wanted was my best friend (and bridesmaid's) birthday. and the other sunday was my fbil (our best man)'s birthday. And I really didnt want to take away from their birthdays. Or have it too early in February.

I didnt consider the 20th b/c knowing monday was presidents day I thought the hall would still charge sat. night prices. Well when we went to book our bm suggested it saying it would still be sunday prices and everyone has off the next day. Sounded great to us!
