Colgate Crib Mattresses: Anyone have a copy of Consumer Reports Best Baby Products or other insight to share?

The place that I am buying my crib from sells Colgate mattresses. The Colgate web site says 'Rated #1 of all brands, models, and styles of crib mattresses recently tested by a leading national consumer product reporting magazine.' I'm guessing thats from
Consumer Reports, but I'm now sure. Can anyone confirm this? The mattress seems really important for safety, so I want to make sure I'm not being a sucker!

I have a consumer reports subscription but they dont have any reviews of crib mattresses on there. I have Sealy posturpedics ($150 each) in both the crib and Emmas bed. They are great! Pricey but great.

How to buy a crib mattress

A mattress is as important as the crib itself. If it’s too small, it could leave gaps in the crib that could trap your baby. If it’s too soft, it might conform to your baby’s shape, causing a suffocation risk. If you’re working within a tight budget, spend a little less money on the crib so you can put it toward a better mattress.

Mattresses made of innersprings or dense foam are acceptable choices. Expect to pay $50 to $150. (At the lower end of that range, expect a foam mattress; at the higher end, a firm innerspring mattress with a high-quality covering.)

What to look for:

Check for firmness. Buy the firmest mattress you can find. Press on the mattress both in the center and at the edges. It should snap back and should not conform to your hand.

Test the fit. A typical crib mattress fits most full-size cribs and is 28x52 inches. Still, check the fit in the store before you buy. If you can squeeze more than two fingers between the mattress and the crib, the mattress is too small.

Consider the mattress cover. Either fabric or vinyl is acceptable. Fabric breathes more than vinyl, but ventilation holes in a vinyl covering help air circulate. The more vents the better. A thicker or layered vinyl covering better resists stains, punctures, and tears
