Review of FSIL and FBIL's wedding-- Woodbury Country Club

Their wedding was at St. Barnabus Church in Bellmore and the priest did a great job during the ceremony. He really personalized it and it was really nice.

The reception was at the Woodbury COuntry Club. It was my first time there and it was really nice. As we walked in they had someone playing a grand piano. The seating cards were on two different tables which was a little confusing but not too bad :) The cocktail hour was good-- a decent selection of food which was very good! Their reception was in the upstairs room, and it was very pretty. One wall was all windows looking out onto the pool which was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The appetizer was a little too fancy for me (I am a picky eater!), it was chicken and spinach in a puff pastry. The salad was excellent! There was no pasta or intermezzo course. There were three selections for dinner, a chicken, prime rib or fish. I had the chicken which was okay. FH had the prime rib and enjoyed it. Mashed potatoes were good and I don't usually eat them... They gave out tartufos before cake which were delicious!! I didn't even try the cake, but they did a great job with it, it looked beautiful! They also had a small dessert bar which I only had a cappuchino but it looked like they had a nice selection of chocolate dipped fruits, cookies and pastries.

I am not sure who they used for flowers or DJ but I could find out if anyone is interested. They used Queens Bridal Center for photo/video and they seemed to do a pretty good job... it is also too early to say for sure because we haven't seen pix :)

Some of the guests stayed at the Huntington HIlton after the reception... We were disappointed because the bar closed early when they had specifically mentioned wanting to have their guests go there so we all went to the bridal suite. The rooms were nice and very big, but seperated. Our room also had a lot of noise. We ate the buffet for breakfast but found that a lot of the glasses/silverware was dirty which kind of skeeved us out a bit.

FSIL made beautiful OOT gift baskets which I took pictures of. She went out of control with what she put in them!

I will post pictures as soon as I get them off of my digital camera. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll answer to the best of my ability

Thanks for the review! Its good to hear that you pretty much liked everything there and of course, you are entitled to your opinion.

Was there enough food at the CH?? I am not set on wether I am adding another station.

TIA!!!

Thanks for the honest review. I'm also getting married at Woodbury, but in the downstairs room. Did you notice the other wedding at all?

Re: Review of FSIL and FBIL's wedding-- Woodbury Country Club

There was a good amount of food at the cocktail hour... Cheeses and fruits, two carving stations, a pasta station, a chinese food area and also another chafing dish area... I would say it is about average.

I didn't even know there was another room downstairs until we were leaving, so I didn't see it at all, sorry!

Their centerpieces were high, but not floral. I will try to post a picture of them when I get them uploaded later on.

Hope I helped!

Thanks for the review. I'd love to see pictures of the room set up with the CP? What was your favorite food from CH?
How would you describe the feeling when you came in? (piano player..ambiance..etc)
Waiting for pics and thanks!!

My favorite food at the CH was probably the rigatoni ala vodka or the cheeses and veggies. Again, I'm a picky eater :)

It was really elegant when we came in. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas (you can see the tree behind the pic of FH and I) and the piano player just made it feel very cozy. It was really nice!!

Thanks for the review. I thought it was a little weird to not have an intermezzo but oh well. Great pics too!

Re: Review of FSIL and FBIL's wedding-- Woodbury Country Club

I thought so too but maybe the tartufo replaced it? If so- it was worth it!!

you looked very pretty, nice pic. The cake looked great. The tartufo instead of intermezzo sounds like a great idea.
