I hate when people try to ruin their Xmas surprises!!!!

I think I've been through thsi before, but my DH is driving me crazy!!!!! he is the worst person to buy gifts for EVER!

He wanted the Lord of the Rings extended version DVD, but I've been teasing him that I'm not going to buy it for him. He wants it so bad he can taste it, he knows I'm going to buy it for him.

So what does he do?

Today he calls me a lunch time - he's out getting a sandwich and there's a video shop across the way. They have LOTR for £24.99, which is cheaper than the £29.99 we saw it for elsewhere. I already bought it for £24.99 at Borders last week, so I tell him You know I said I'm not buying it. So he tells me, I'm going to buy it for myself then right now. Of course I have to yell NO!!

I guess I walked into that one, but he just drives me nutso!!!!!

i am the WORST! i already got my xmas gift.... FH gave it to me a few days ago and was like 'i know you cant wait'..... i really cant!!! i used to go through my moms reciepts or unwrap the gifts that i could find... then rewrap them.

I hate that too! My FH does that to me all the time! Right before his birthday and Christmas he whinges and whines about the technology he absolutely has to have. I try to be sly about it and surprise him, but on several occassions he has pestered me to reveal, threatened to purchase and/or actually purchased said technology.


I really love surprises though and he has only surprised me 2 or 3 times with gifts. He gets so excited after he gets me something that he has to give it to me right away. I got my Christmas gift 2 weeks ago!

I think that warrants a big lump of coal in his stocking
Or, snatch some of his chorizos. That'll teach him!

P.S. MonkeyLuv, your avatar has got me in a fit of giggles....does that monkey grind coffee beans with his teeth? He sure looks like he does.

DH almsot did the same with LOTR.
He wants the un-extended version of return of the King and thinks it will be hard to find now that the extended verison is out. And while looking for the boxed set for his mother, he saw it & later said to me he should go back & get it for himself.

The best I couold do was, 'No time for that, we still have so many more people to shop for!' Really, that meant, 'shush -up,I already bought it at Best buy on Thursday!'

I'm pretty sure she has a mini-zoo full of monkey's in a pen in her back yard that she dresses up in different outfits and takes photographs of for use as her avatar!!!!

my Greg is the same way, he will shake the gift and most of the time he guesses what is in the box

you know what you should do? hide it and dont give it to him on christmas, and when he is all suprised that he didnt get it, give it to him the next day or something

My husband does stuff like this too!! He wanted Tivo, I told him I could not afford it before Christmas, but I would get it right after. So I bought it of course, wrapped it up, put my brothers name on the tag to throw him off, told him I got my brother a racing wheel for playstation, it was a big box. And he still shook the box and knew it was his Tivo. He said he was looking at them in the store and knew the shape of the box and knew the racing wheel I supposedly bought my brother was not in a box that size!!
So, Tivo is now all set up in the living room because the big baby needed to open it ASAP!! But I got to open one of my gifts too, I got my appetizer grill I wanted!!

my FH always ruins the surprise he cannot wait to get his gifts. he always gets computer gadgets. he actually said to me one time 'you can order it and have it delivered to my house' Omg he is too funny. he usually opens some of them before christmas though.

I think that's a brilliant idea. Or at least wait until later on in the day.
