omg i m sitting in here in mypajamas, sweat shirt and ugg boots cause it is freeezing!! i am so sick..a horrible cold and just now someone rings my buzzer to my apartment and it is 10:15 at nite.. um hello single girl living alone is not buzzing any1 in at this hour!!!

In college our heat broke once and we ran the oven with the oven door open to warm it up. A short term solution because it was probably dangerous! Get warm!

the building controls the heat i have no control over it and they have it shut off can u believe this, i feel like sleeping in the kitchen the only warm spot in my house

Okay, that is crazy!!! What about all the other tenants in our building? Are you all complaining? This has got to be against the law. It is freezing out.

If you are in the city- I don't remember there is that number that you are supposed to call to report no heat or lack of- 311 or something like that.

by law landlords are supposed to put the heat Between the hours of 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, if the outside temperature falls below 55 degrees, the inside temperature is required to be at least 68 degrees Fahrenheit; and,

Between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, if the temperature outside falls below 40 degrees, the inside temperature is required to be at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

It's true Michi..it is illegal. You are supposed to check with building management first...if they do not get anywhere, call 311.

we were without heat last week and ran the oven for a bit...yup, it warmed up the place but was not the best idea...calllsomeone!!!

Definitely call someone...damn, if that was me in this seriously pissy mood i'm in right now, I'd probably threaten to light something on fire to keep the building warm....

people are such jerks sometimes- whether its the heat, a parking spot, or just someone not willing to go out of their way for you when you would do it for them - people suck at christmastime.
