Suffolk Areas with good School Districts and Safe areas

I was just wondering what towns are safe and have good school districts in Suffolk?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Suffolk Areas with good School Districts and Safe areas

For Three Village- i think maybe St. James, Setauket and I'm not sure of the third...

But other good areas too are Kings Park, Smithtown, Northport, East Northport, Stonybrook.....

Re: Suffolk Areas with good School Districts and Safe areas

Three Village SD is good - it is Stony Brook, Setauket, parts of St James, East Setauket, South Setauket, Lake Grove (parts).

Miller Place SD is good too - the towns are Miller Place (most parts) and Sound Beach (most parts). Some of these towns fall under Rocky Point SD.

I've heard Smithtown SD is good.

I went to Port Jeff - I thought it was a pretty good school district although people criticize it for being very small.

Re: Suffolk Areas with good School Districts and Safe areas

Central Islip is horrible but West Islip is great according to a friend who is a teacher in that district. East Islip she said was good but West was supposed to better. We looked at an apt. in Islandia and they were districted for central islip.

Re: Suffolk Areas with good School Districts and Safe areas

I've lived in West Islip for years and always felt very safe here. I don't have children in the schools yet, but my understanding is it is a very good school district.

Yes, Central Islip horrible (parts of Islandia and North Great River go to Central Islip), West, East, and regular Islip all pretty good...I also wouldn't move to Brentwood or Bay Shore districts myself...
