Re: Cake from Reception Hall or Bakery
i'm getting mine from the hall - i guess it depends on the halls preference too - they may not want outside sources for that

Re: Cake from Reception Hall or Bakery
I'm using my halls cake, but they get it from a local bakery that is supposed to be very good.Ask your hall if they make them in house, most of them have a bakery that they use.

hi - i'm getting married at stewart manor too. they use a bakery in lindenhurst - you can upgrade the cake if you want (for a price, of course). that's what we did.

Re: Cake from Reception Hall or Bakery
Our hall uses a specific bakery. We went to that bakery and got an upgrade on what was in our package. People are still raving about the cake.

Re: Cake from Reception Hall or Bakery
i got my cake from mona lisa bakery. they did an excellent job on the cake and delivery. my reception hall was also able to include a wedding cake but they're kinda cheesy and the taste isn't quite as yummy. their cake's are similar to the chinese bakeries you would see in chinatown(s).

Re: Cake from Reception Hall or Bakery
Our hall offers a cake at $3.50 a slice. Since it's not included, we're shopping around to see if there's anything that blows us away. If not, we'll just use the hall. It's a little annoying though becaues my hall doesn't offer a cake tasting, so I have no idea what the cake would actually taste like.

Re: Cake from Reception Hall or Bakery
The Chateau La Mer provides us with the cake but they get it from the Local bakery in there area which is very good and I am going to talk to the bakery and let them know what I want.

Re: Cake from Reception Hall or Bakery
We are still undecided. We have heard that our halls cakes arent really the best... but they just changed bakers around thanksgiving time.I think I am going to have to order a sample from the new bakery. If I dont like it I already have another baker lined up and my hall has offered to give me a small credit if I dont use their cake.

Re: Cake from Reception Hall or Bakery
we used the hall's bakery, Audreys. The cake was fantastic. everyone loved it.We originally upgraded but then we decide to save $200 some dollars and go with another cake that was only $50 extra.
i guess it depends on the hall's bakery choice. and if you have a favorite bakery. then consider going with your own.
