I went dress shopping (finally!!!)

Wow!!!!

This is going to be a very hard decision. I've narrowed it down to 4 dresses. My mom is coming up from Florida at the end of the month. My sister will be down from Massachusetts too. We have to decide then. I love all four (well three.) How do you decide????

I can only find a picture of one of them. Two of them are orginal designs from Iman Couture in Old Brookville (wow - what a dress, but $$$$), the second one they would not tell me the name of the designer (it was at Wedding Salon in Manhasset) and the last was at Lillette's in Baldwin (gerri was so great by the way). I'll try post a picture of that one, but that doesn't help because you can't compare to the others.

You can't tell from the picture, but the material is gorgeous - it's like raw silk. I wish I could show you the other two so you could help me decide.

love love love the feel of raw silk! i think one of the brides had this dress on her wedding day. it looks familiar. beautiful dress!

I do love the material of the Paloma Blanca. That's the only reason it's a contender. But I really want something different. I wish I could show you girls the others. Hopefully my mom will help.

yea I really like it and Im not a "simple" dress girl, but you can tell the material is just divine and I love the low back and train

You need to go back and try them all on again with a fresh day and clear head.

I came home after I rodered my dress and FREAKED out thinking it was yellow and ugly and horrible and I went back to try it on the next weekend and was like UMM ok Im psycho haha.

I think your mind like plays tricks on you when you dont have pictures in front of you.

I can definitely see your point. And they are all very different. I have three weeks before my mom & sister come, so hopefully I'll see them with a clear head then and I'm sure they will have opinions.

My SIL (my brother's wife - she's just like a sister to me) was with me, so she had some opinions that helped, but I need a couple more opinions.

There was one that she saw my face light up. At first I thought that one was the one. The style was exactly what I always pictured. It was sorta tank style with a V-neck, beading at the waist - very classy, elegant, and very different from anything I've seen lately. It was very "me." But the more I think about it, the more I think I like the first one, which was a gorgeous custom ball gown. I'm very confused. I'm starting to think the classy tank one is similar to what I wear to every wedding we go to, y'know? And when else can you wear a custom ball gown with gorgeous lace detailing? The Paloma Blanca is sorta in between. (and it's the cheapest & at the most convenient place, but that's not a reason to buy a dress, right?)

I am really confused!!! (can ya tell????)

ohhh I think I would like the ball gown. This is the ONE day you get to be a princess!!!

If number 2 was the one you have always wanted then go for it, but maybe you are just "used" to that style.

Your wedding day should be romantic, exciting and unique from any other day!!!!

Oh and def dont settle.. youll always second guess yourself.

I always wated a unique dress as well and mine is very different than what Id even pictured in my own head.

I think you're right. It is such an amazing dress. Maybe I'll take the digital camera over the weekend and take a picture of the dress. It's in the window. The lace on it is so beautiful. It has the perfect amount of beading. But it is soooooo expensive!!!! I'll have to see what my mom says...

my dress is a paloma blanca....very similar to the one you want. it's style 3511...so that is my vote

Go with the dress you love the most! the one you can't stop thinking about!! and the most comfortable. I love mine but i also love that it not very heavy. The ballgowns are gorgeous but because i'm on the smaller side, they were very uncomfortable.

Thanks girls. I still haven't decided. Two more weeks til my mom & sister are here. I might go try more before they come. I keep thinking the poofy ballgown might be it. But it is way too much money, so I think I'll go look at similar ones. The one I liked was in the window of the store so I might go take a picture & post it. I'll keep you updated.
