Re: just booked my photographer
Oh see mind are like a 'casual day' shoot with full bodieshahah here you go...
from their website....
Proper Clothing for your Portrait...
A portrait captures a special moment in time that you'll want to look at over the years with fond memories. Choosing the right clothing, hair style, and makeup can make a difference in your portrait.
Your wardrobe should complement and enhance your portrait-not overpower it. Dress to bring out your personality.
The real focal point of any portrait is the face. Avoid clothing with large prints or patterns that will draw attention away from the face.
Avoid short sleeves. The longer sleeve length the more flattering the body figure.
Mixing formal and casual clothing styles in the same portrait should be avoided.
The most flattering neck line is one that comes close to the neck. A wide open neck line tends to thicken the neck line. A neck line that comes close to the base of the neck (turtle neck or collar) is the most flattering; it tends to slim down the person and frames the face in a more pleasant way.
Darker clothing will tend to slim you down while lighter clothing is generally good for young children, portraits, and sometimes family groups.
Clothing should be not too tight or loose. Clothing below the waist should be darker than above the waist. Otherwise, attraction to the lower part of the body will take away from your face.
Lay out all you clothing on a bed: shoes, socks, stockings (dark hose is recommended), everything should be included. Carefully look at your selection, if your eye goes to any one item in particular you can be certain the same thing will happen in a portrait. Change the item for one that blends more.
Remember, keep your look consistent from head to toe. Have all members in a group portrait be consistent with each other.
Hair styles should be as simple as possible and off the face.
Eye makeup should be blended-no sharp demarcation lines between colors. Avoid white above the eyes. Too much color above and below the eyes attracts attention to itself. It actually takes attention away from the eyes rather than attracting the viewer to the eyes. Foundation makeup should be blended below the jaw so that there is no visible demarcation between the face and the neck.
Props can often make a portrait more interesting. You might want to consider bringing a musical instrument or a piece of sports equipment that relates to your interests. Consider bringing a suitable toy, doll, or memento to serve as a prop for a child or baby.
Be well rested before your portrait. If you had a long day and tired it may show in your portrait.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us...

Re: just booked my photographer
It definitely sounds like a great package, as long as you love the work as much as the price. Engageent shoots are sometimes upper body, but they're often full lenght shots too, sometimes outdoors. A lot of girls have poste them. What's cute is sometimes the bride and groom will wear very similar colors or really complementary colors and that seems to really add to it. Mostly i've seen couples wear jeans or khakis and the guy will wear a polo shirt or a button down and the girl will wear khakis or black pants and a nice top. i think whne both wear khakis it really looks cute, and it's casual so it's a big contrast from the wedding.
