OMG!!! im going to try on dresses tonight(REPOST BHB).......UPDATE

I made an appt with Valentina Bridal . I figured it is the 1st time im going and it is 3 blocks from my house. This way i can get an idea of what i like and don't like...
any advice???????????

OK so i just got back
i went there with a few pics that i pulled out of mag's which were mostly EVE OF MILDAY .
I HATE TULLE,& ORGANZA ON ME UGHH

i also tried on differnt designer but dont remember the names lol

every one says strapless lools better on me, i tried on spag straps, halter . you name it i tried it lol

so at least now i know i like strapless and silk/satin ..

im not sure if i like ballgown or aline
my mom and everyone else liked the ballgown -they said i will never be able to wear a dress like that again ..

but i just feel ballgown is sooooooooooo puffy and heavy ..

the aline was cute i was able to move around more in it .

so i don't know

even if it doesn't look like the style you had in mind on the hanger, try it on! I tried on many of dresses that weren't my taste per say & they were beautiful on!

Bring a strapless bar so you don't have to use theirs...Wear something easy to take on & off...

Have fun & don't be nervous! This is the fun time

I havent even gotten that far yet. Im not a good try on/take off person so I hope my experience will be fun.
I have gone with a few friends and I say the same...it may not look like your taste but try it on anyways. Majortiy of the girls pick a dress they would of never considered!

I got mine, hmmm advice well just GOOD LUCK & have fun with it! I went with just a few people to get their opinions, I choose my mom & sis & MOH. They all know my taste & r really blunt when it comes to if they like something or not.......haha

I went just to 'look' my first time at an Eve of Milady trunk show & ended up finding and buying the dress of my dreams!
Try on a bunch...I thought I wanted ballroom & ended up with A-line. GOOD LUCK!

You're going to have a great time...

as far as advice...DEFINATELY try on something you were thinking you don't like...you'll be surprised at what actually looks beautiful and what doesn't...my sister is works for The Bridal Salon at Macy's so she knows what shes talking about...

Be objective! I brought my best friend with me and she took pictures of the different dresses I tried on. I also brought pictures of dresses that I liked in magazines. The most important thing is that you love the way you look and feel. Good luck!!

Glad you had a good experience...I thought the same thing...I never thought strapless would look good on me, but that is the dress I ordered....

When it comes to the skirt, Aline is flattering on everyone...That is what I wanted...I ended up with a ballgown which looked puffy with the slip...I ended up ordering my dress without the slip & it is not puffy at all!
