Glen Island Harbour Club review

I have a second hand review for anyone who is interested.

Jan 8 afternoon wedding at Glen Island Harbour Club with about 200 guests.

Everything was excellent!! The DJ was Brown Sounds and he was so good that the party did not stop until 5 p.m. on the dot - no wind down. He had so many giveaways that there was no need for a favor. There was also a band - calypso. There was a nice silver engraved wedding bell with a heart on top as the favor.

The food was to die for - 'exquisite' is the word used.

The flowers were 'gorgeous'. However, there was one corsage that was a bit wilted maybe done too early since the bridal was huge - 5 -6 limos with one limo just for the ministers 3 of them. The bride did corsages for a lot of people including her hair stylist - who ended up with the wilting one.

The entrees were filet mignon, salmon, prosuitto wrapped chicken. The guests I spoke to tasted all the entrees (they shared them - not 3 for each). The shrimp are 'as big as your hand'

There was a waiter per table which made a huge difference and the glasses were always filled. At cocktail hour guests could sit and have food brought over. There was no need for any guest to move unless they just wanted to get up to walk around.

The guests I spoke with said it was the best wedding they had ever attended.

Katrina--thanks so much for posting this review!! Sounds like I won't have anything to worry about The prosuitto wrapped chicken sounds great--I don't think they had that when I went for my tasting. Do you remember (or does your friend remember)what size the tables were (10, 12 or 14?) and whether it felt crowded at them? Thanks again!

It's in New Rochelle--about 35 minutes from Garden City.

The tables were for 10 people. There were some no shows that added up to about 2 empty tables - but no totally empty tables. There was no crowding at all at the tables.
