Too early for trials??
Is it too early to book trials for hair and makeup? Has anyone had them yet?

Re: Too early for trials??
I'm not going to do that until a month or two before.I figure your style or taste might change in a year. And the person who you have the trial with might not be there when you go back for your big day!!
Also, there's SOOO many other things to do right now!!
If you have a friend's wedding, or some other big event coming up, you might want to use that as your trial. That way, you don't pay all that money to just take it all off when you get home!

I have most of my stuff done, I'm lucky I guess. What I am concerned with is if I wait too long, they may be booked. Hey, I guess I answered my own question then...

Since you are getting married in February, I would say no, it's not too early. I am getting married in November of this year. I started calling people to schedule trial is the beginning of December and the 1st person I called for hair was already booked! So go ahead, it's never too early to start! Your taste will not change that musch in 1 year.

Re: Too early for trials??
From what I have been getting from brides here good make up people can be booked up a year in advance! I am going to be booking trials soon just to have one more thing done & off of the list.

That is absolutely true. I don't think it's too early at all. The popular vendors get booked really quickly. I took advantage of having my make up trial on the morning (7 am) of my engagement shoot.

If you wait for a month or two before---you'll probably be too late.....if you read the remainder of these posts...you'll see that most of the 'great' hair and makeup people in LI are booked up to or over a year in advance. Start the trials ASAP---trust me....I missed out on crucial vendors b/c I didn't catch them in time.

I agree! I've heard that Tarale and Jacqueline Nicole book up really fast, so I'm going to start the trials this month or next. Thanks for your input!
