candy buffet thingy-majiggy with poll

Okay, so if for my favors I have a candy buffet (different types of candy matching my 'colors' in tall glass vases at each table) and give people an ice cream scooper as the favor.....which do you think I should give as to what people should put the candy in....

Re: candy buffet thingy-majiggy with poll

I love all the boxes - I personally liked the second one, but the gown/tuxedo ones are adorable too.

My sister went to a wedding that had a candy buffet and said it was one of the best touches she had seen at a wedding!

Re: candy buffet thingy-majiggy with poll

I LOVE the tuxedo/bride boxes. I've seen the tux boses before but never the bride ones!

We're thinking of doing either the buffet with the colored Chinese take out containers or with these celophane/paper lined bags that'd we'd make on our own IF it isn't difficult.

How did you figure out how much candy to buy?

ETA - Sorry not trying to hijack your thread! Also, one of my coworkers just told me she got the tuxedo box at a weding and they are even cuter in real life than the pictures. Her's was filled with almonds & she saif they close up well so nothing comes out on the way home.

I voted for the white box, but LOVE the bags so much more. Especially since the candies will match your colors, show them off!

Hijack away! No problem, Diva! Whats funny is I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to do this but I just love the idea. I figured, closer to the wedding date I would go to Costco/Walmart or somewhere like that to get bulk candy because I woudl be worried ordering bulk from the internet only to get 900 pieces of something that tastes like barf. You may want to google the ice cream scoops, I'm trying to shop around for them and think I like the selection at favorwarehouse.com the best.

What I'm probably going to do as soon as I figure out the vases is to fill them to the brim then I have a small food scale that will tell me how many pounds it is, I'll just multiply that by table and viola! BTW, LOVE the chinese box idea!

Both packages are lovely, but the bride/groom is that bit different, so I voted for that. The candy buffet sounds like a real treat

Re: candy buffet thingy-majiggy with poll

I love the tux and bride box. It's so different. Can someone explain to me what a candy buffet is? How do the guests know to scoop the candy? Is this a really expensive favor to do?

Re: candy buffet thingy-majiggy with poll

Easily put: 'A relatively recent trend, made popular by Martha Stewart, is the 'candy buffet' or 'confection bar'. This consists of a variety of candies or treats placed in varied sizes of glass containers and grouped on a table. A wooden scoop or pretty silver spoon in each container allows guests to fill small boxes or bags as take-home favors'

Re: candy buffet thingy-majiggy with poll

I LOVE (!!!) the tux/gown but I wonder if they're not too small for a candy buffet? You know how people like to load up on the candy

Well put! But for me, instead of a wooden spoon, I will have a take home ice cream spoon.
