Oheka for the Wedding Night Hotel?
Well I wanted to have my wedding at Oheka, but when I saw the prices I knew we couldn't swing it because I have a huge guest list. I was a little disappointed, but OK with it....My Mom called me yesterday and asked if FH and I would like to stay there after the reception...the thing is...we wouldn't get there until at least 12 and you have to check out by 11 the next day.
Is it worth it? It is pricey....and it would only be for a few hours. Also my parents are paying for the majority of the wedding since I went to graduate school and have no money. I am so appreciative of all their help and would kind of feel bad about adding on another expense.
Any opinions?

You need to check out at 11 even if you are a newlywed? I think some hotels have bridal packages where it is a late check out.. I mean, even the Wingate has that.. We are staying there cause it is close to our venue and all out OOT will be there.

Re: Oheka for the Wedding Night Hotel?
This is actually our plan too but we are hoping for an afternoon wedding(lots of drama right now)so we figured it might be better like you said because of the price and checkout. What if since you are going to be home by 12pm on wedding night if you just check in at 11am the next morning and spend the whole day and night.

I personally think it would be a waste of money. Like you said, you would only be spending a couple of hours in the room and then checking out. You can asliy get a less expnsive room for that night. Spend the extra money on your HM.

B/C they dont want any other brides walking around the castle ( even though you go straight to your room) in your dress. We asked what if we get there after the wedding is over or if there is no wedding that day?? they said the same rule applies.
I guess they dont want people to be able to take pics around the castle in their dress??? just a guess though.

If you don't mind me being nosy, where'd you wind up booking?

I left it up to fh b/c I was so sick of doing everything lol
So he wound up booking the plaza ... I wasnt too happy about it b/c its so much $$ and we have to go all the way to the city, but now we have relatives coming in from out of town staying near by and we get to see them the day after the wedding before they leave.

Oh, well thats nice then. At least there are some advantages...and a major plus would be is ONE thing was out of your hands. So far FH's only job is to get a haircut day before the wedding

Have you tried the Essex House? I think it's less expensive than the plaza.

Re: Oheka for the Wedding Night Hotel?
I told my Mom that I don't think it is worth it...especially with having to take your wedding dress off before you arrive...She also told me that they said we couldn't take pictures there...seems like they are quite demanding over there!!!
She said maybe she will just get us a night there for our 1 year anniversary instead...gotta love Mom!!!
