Are most of you getting makeup done or doing own?

I'm not really sure what I want to do. What are your thoughts?

I'm pretty adept at doing my own makeup for special occasions and I've done makeup for friends' weddings too BUT I realized how nervous I'll probably be that day and I didn't want to have a panic attack because I put my eyeliner on crooked or something crazy like that. So I decided to go with a professional instead who hopefully won't have that kind of breakdown

I SUCK at make-up and don't own any, so I will definitely need someone, anyone to do mine. Sadly, the search continues for me.

I never wear make-up, but my sister LOVES it. I told her that she can do my wedding make-up. She'll take any excuse to spend a few hours at Sephora. :)

I only own lipstick and gloss so I'd have to get it done. My best friend (MOH) may do it (as she is great with her own make up and sold make up for a while) or my hair stylist (who also does make up professionally) may do it.

I'm glamming it up for the entire day---I want to be treated like a queen for 16 hours.....getting my makeup and hair done, probably spend some time at a spa, then off to be wed!! Yay!!!!

I am getting mine done becuase I want it to last all day and night. i tend to have to reapply bc Mine slides and gets oily. Hopefully it will look better with a pro.

I'm going to do it myself.

I've been to Macy's a few times and got makeovers there. One time I thought they did a really good job, and everyone said it looked good. However those who saw me the next day at another party where I did my own makeup, said (to my surprise) that they liked the way I had done it a lot better!
The 2nd time I had it professionally done I did not like it at all.

Thus I figured not to take a chance and just do it myself.

I'm gonna do mine myself. I don't wear much make up to begin with so I don't want someone to pile a lot on. When I do take the time and do my makeup most people say I do a good job. Maybe I'll go to a Macys for some pointers from the Clinqiue girls, but for the most part thats a nice place to save some chump change.

Exactly my thoughts, I've actually been asked at friends weddings if I had my makeup professionally done, and I had done it myself, but on the day of my wedding, I will be a freak show, and don't need to look like one...

When you are going to be in a situation where you are going to be having pics and video taken of you, I think that it is really important to adjust your make-up to be 'camera ready' Certain colors do not look good on camera like purple or blue, I think that a make-up artist that specializes in wedding make-up is key because they know exactly what colors to use in what intensity.
