help ladies...I just realized I am going to get my "Friend" on my wedding day

Ladies I thought I was going to be ok..My period shifted a few months ago to the end of the month...well I just figured out with the buth contrl that I will be due for it on my wedding day and into my HM

We just moved to LI and I dn't even have a GYN I could see ..I am going to try to call my old GYN up in Albany and see if I can get a hold of her

I read that if you skip the placebos and start the active pills back up it will skip.
Can I do this not under medical supervision...will the period be very bad the next month

please ladies help ...I feel like I am going to ruin my wedding dress or ruin my honeymoon

I do this every once in a while. It is no big deal. My gyn tells me "I'm Smart"
I take the active pills, skip the inactive pills and immediately start a new pack. Your period will not be worse next month. This is the basis for the seasonale pill. Same idea. It will be no problem. Don't worry. Do it and you will be period free. Call your old gyn and ask her if you feel more comfortable with that though.

You're right, just skip the placebos and start the next batch. You do not need to see your GYN. I had that too. Boy was a
the week before my wedding.
The next month I didn't get my period at all.

Yea, thats what I'm doing, so this month I am skipping the placebo. They say to do it as far in advance as possible to change your cycle just in case of any side effects (nothing horrible)

My doctor told me to skip the placebo pills also and I was ok. You may want to speak with the doctor first but I was told the same thing.

Just start a new pack the day after you use the last "real" pill. You will be fine!

the best way to skip on the tri backs is two use two pack simoutaneously - take the same color pill for two weeks, then the next color for two weeks, and the third color pill for two weeks -then get your period and start a single pack

Re: help ladies...I just realized I am going to get my "Friend" on my wedding day

I don't know anything about the tri pack, but if you can move around the date, I'd try doign it early. My GYN told me no prioblem and to just start the new pack right after the active pills of the last one. I did this the month prior to and month of my wedding. It worked, mostly. But, I did have some little spotting which was a PITA. I never have that otherwise. So, I would think if you skip it and then have time to readjust to your schedule, you should have no problems.

Depends on what type of BC you are on. Some won't work. Check with your gyno before you decide to do anything.

Re: help ladies...I just realized I am going to get my "Friend" on my wedding day

I am in the same boat and was on Ortho Tri Cyclen. My GYN changed me to Ortho Cyclen just recently (practically the same pill, but all the same hormone levels). She said that would be better for me if I was skipping the fake pills, but assured me that since they were so similar, I wouldn't have any weird side effects. I would ask your GYN - I am sure she can just call in a prescription for you and help you out.

Re: help ladies...I just realized I am going to get my "Friend" on my wedding day

Just know the side effects of doing this. I did this 3 months before my wedding and I had terrible side effects!!!

My chest was SOOO sore and swollen to a size bigger, I was all bloated and spotted for weeks.

Sorry to share this bad experience...but I would have wanted someone to tell me.

I was free period free on wedding day and back to normal though.

I had side effects too--spotting, horrible breaking out which I never have, swollen chest...I did it 3 mos. in advance so I was OK by the wedding month, but it was not fun for a while...

Re: help ladies...I just realized I am going to get my "Friend" on my wedding day

First things first, don't freak out!!!!

You can skip your period, and it SHOULD be ok, hoewver, when I tried to do that, I ended up spotting for a whole month. It was terrible.

If you are the type who never spots, then you're OK, but depending on your honeymoon plans, you might be better off having it for the wedding and not the honeymoon!

Re: help ladies...I just realized I am going to get my "Friend" on my wedding day

Another idea is stop taking them a week early. I do that for vacations. Instead of taking the last week of active pills I force my period to come early. Then I'm sure it won't magically appear when I don't want it. My doctor told me to do it so I'm guessing it's ok. Good luck.
