Short video at wedding
I went to a wedding once where they played a short video before dinner came out with pictures of the bride and groom growing up, family pictures, etc. which I thought was really neat. Is anyone planning something similar at their reception?

I'm not doing it because it would be too much $$ to get the plasmas (although they can do projection screens) but I agree that it's nice. Our DJ company does it...my fi loved it, I had to talk him out of it!

Re: Short video at wedding
yes, I'm planning on doing one! It's going to be sort of a slide show played during dinner. It will start out with pictures of me and FH and our immediate family growing up. Then it will have pictures of all our friends and families. I'm hoping to have at least one pic of each person who is at the wedding.

I think our hall has a screen for it and we just need to hook a laptop up to it. Thanks for reminding me, I have to double check on that.

We're doing it........I prefer the projection screen b/c you can see better if you are sitting afar but FI wants two plasma screens......our DJ also shows bride and groom during the ceremony exchanging vows before we are announced into the reception room which is a nice touch for those who missed the church ceremony.

Re: Short video at wedding
We are doing it, but my DJ wants to show the pictures during the parent dances.I had suggested during dinner and he said he has never done it like that before.
I felt the pictures would be a distraction during the dances and he said it gives the guest something to watch while we are dancing.
Need some feedback please!!

We are doing it too. My DJ is providing the screens but I'm having the actual DVD done by a different company. The DJ is just going to play it.http://www.retrospectvideoalbums.com

This is included in our DJ package. I guess I should go and hide all of the embarassing baby pics!!!

Laura- Let me know if that is possible! That is such a good idea. Don't you need the projector as well???

Re: Short video at wedding
we do it for every wedding/birthday party etc. All you need is a projector and a white wall... Its so easy to make yourself too. All you need is movie maker and a bunch of pics either digital or scanned in :) A few songs for the backround and whoala!!

Re: Short video at wedding
We booked it through our DJ. He just bought a new projection screen. And I've seen it done before, really liked it, so we booked it!

Re: Short video at wedding
I wanted to do this so badly. I love the idea. But it was something like $600 through the DJ and not in the budget.

Re: Short video at wedding
FH says he wants to put it together himself...all you need to do is make a picture slideshow on a laptop...hook it up to a projector- which he will borrow from the comp engineering dept at our college and play a song on a cd playerits not fancy but it gets the job done and we can do it just how we want to
