I acutally hired a wedding planner but can also serve as a day of coordinator and she is EXCELLENT! For the day I believe she charges $600

When I got married in 11/02 I had Elaine as my coordinator...it was Great! she was great! She really helped everything go off without a hitch or me having to worry about it all. I actually got to enjoy my day without making sure that everything was on schedule, dealing with vendors etc...

I thought this was so uneeded initially but I QUICKLY have changed my opinion and am looking into getting one for the day! I want a lot of specific small things taken care of but I don't want to burden other family members! Want them to have fun too!!!

I think I'm giong to use Jodi at Simplicity Planning for my day of coordinator. She seems great - Plus, even though she's a 'day of' coordinator, she keeps track of your vendors for you and stays in contact with them from the day you book her until your wedding.

I don't want my mom and/or bridesmaids running around doing my tasks on my wedding day. I'd rather have a professional there and let my guests reallyl enjoy our special night

Here is a review of Elaine from a bride on The Knot-it's very positive and descibes a bit of what she does (as does her website www.exquisiteeventsnewyork.com): Elaine Review

Also, Elaine makes up timelines for each of your vendors to let them know when and where they're expected to set up. She gives them diagrams of how everything is supposed to be set up, from escort card and placecards to centerpieces. She'll also give timelines to your BP and diagrams to show them how they're supposed to line up at the ceremony and the reception and when everything is going on. Hope this helps!
