Mother and Daughter Dance...Anyone doing this? What song?

Just wondering if anyone was doing this...I have no relationship with my father so he will therefore NOT be a part of my wedding.

My Mom is walking me down the aisle and I want to have a mother/daughter dance. Anyone else doing this too??? Know of any good songs???

My father passed away when i was little. I was thinking about doing this too. My godfather is walking me down the aisle but I thought this might be a nice thing at the reception. I like 'You've got a friend' 'I'll Stand By You' and 'In My Daughter's Eyes'. Whatever song you decide on I am sure the emotion and meaning of the dance will be there.

I saw her perform that on Oprah and I was crying soooo much...I can only imagine what I will do on my wedding day!!

That would be sweet! I love the Martina McBride song, I've seen pictures of other Mother/Bride dances and it was wonderful.

My dad passed away when I was little also and so my mom is walking me down the aisle and we are dancing together. So far we have chosen 'You raise me up' by Josh Groban but my mom heard the Martina McBride song the other day and she loved it so I guess we will chose between the two when it gets closer!!

My mom wouldn't want the spotlight, but I want to do something special. So I'm doing a program for the reception (listing out who's who in the BP, menu, + special songs). In it I'm dedicating Celine Dion's 'Because You Loved Me' to my mom and sister. I want everyone to know how special they are to me!

I plan to do a special dance with my mom, but not one in the big spotlight sort of deal. She loves Barbara Streisand, and I'm leaning towards 'If I Could.' Celine Dion also does it on her latest album.

i am not doing that but i know of a few people that have done it. i dont see anything worng with it. i know few of the 2004 brides had the same situations if i recall right.
