Re: Anyone getting married at the Swan Club...
I am going to book the swan club tomorrow for late september on a Friday. We are getting the Contessa Room. I heard it's pretty nice. I live in NC and am getting married in NY. Talk about stress!

Re: Anyone getting married at the Swan Club...
Hi fellow Swan Club brides! I noticed that we're all newbies on this website. I've been engaged since 1/04 and now that it's only 8 months away, I'm definitely starting to feel the stress. What have you ladies scratched off from your list so far? I'm in the early process of interviewing vendors so I feel like there's so much I have to get moving on.
By the way, I'm really excited about the Swan Club. I've heard a lot of great things about it.
JS&BM05: Yay, we're getting married in the same room.
Since it's the Garden room, I'm trying to continue the 'garden' theme with the flowers...I'm trying to find lush garden-ish type of blooms but they're quite pricey unfortunately.

Re: Anyone getting married at the Swan Club...
Does anyone have any recomendations on a DJ for under $1000. We are getting married on a Friday night at the Swan Club so I was hoping I might be able to get a deal.

Germai8: The quote I got for the vendor I met was $1,600 - it was for a dj & mc combo. Needless to say, I have to interview more dj's to compare.

Re: Anyone getting married at the Swan Club...
I am starting to get excited about the wedding and the swan club also.As for the garden room, I just booked my florist this past week and I decided to go with different shades of pink for that room.
Good luck with everything. I am actually having fun planning the wedding. I never thought I would say that...

Hi Fellow Swanies
I am in the Contessa Room, and it's dark wood with beautiful bay windows on the upper level (you'll see when you get there the room is split level which gives it a very open feeling) Basically any color would work, it depends what kind of lighting your going to have you could go very light or you could go very dark with extra lighting (candles) My plan right now is to do off-white table clothes with dark red roses, petals around the base and votives) but since i might be changing to May 2006, I may go with Tulips
To answer you question about the cake, I've heard mixed reviews, they don't do cake tastings so there is no way to be 100% sure, but they did say they could replicate almost any design you bring them, if it's very complicated they could charge you a little extra, especially if you want to seperate your tiers..
I will bump the Swanie Threads :)

Re: Anyone getting married at the Swan Club...
I find myself checking the virtual tour for the Swan Club every other day... I can actually close my eyes and know exactly how the Garden room looks
I can't wait to see it fully decorated. I like the fact that it isn't over the top and too traditional but sometimes I wonder if the ceilings are too low. Well, I'm definitely getting low centerpeices!Do you ladies have any ideas for your centerpeices? Please share.

Re: Anyone getting married at the Swan Club...
Summerbride I share your thoughts about the low ceiling. I thought I was the only one. I am going with low centerpieces as well. I am doing different shades of pink flowers around a hurricane lamp with little tea light candles wrapped in lace around the table. Is anyone using the flowers that they provide for the ceremony?
