Oak room -Jericho Terrace

Can you ladies help me out?

I have a cousin who is interested in getting married at Jericho Terrace. When she called to ask about their availablility for her wedding they offered her the 'Oak Room'. She says that this room is not on their website which she thinks is a little shady. So, before she takes a trip from Brooklyn to Mineola she asked me if knew anything about this room which I don't.

Any Jericho Terrace brides that have info/pictures about this room please share!

Thanks,

Alana

Re: Oak room -Jericho Terrace

Hi!
I'm in the Oak Room...it's not in the website, it's true. I gave my BM grief over this! LOL

It's their smallest room, holds up to 150 and it's on the lower level. It looks like the Penthouse Room, but smaller...al fresco paintings on the wall, chandeliers at every other table (beautiful), raised dais, a DJ station built onto the wall, tile floors...if she's having a small wedding, it's a perfect room (I guaranteed 100).

Good luck!

Re: Oak room -Jericho Terrace

We were originally supposed to be in the Oak Room - it is small, so if she is having more than 120 people it is not going to work. Even with 120, it is going to be cramped. They have oblong tables in that room, so if she wants round tables I would not do it. The oblong tables hold 4 across and then either one or two at the end, depending on the amount of people you are having. As I said, it is cramped if you do capacity with 2 people at the small end of an oblong table. They cannot put anyone at the other end of the oblong table because that would back up onto the dance floor and take away from that space. We ended up moving to the Penthouse room because our guest list grew like crazy after we had first booked with them.

Good luck.
Lisa

Re: Oak room -Jericho Terrace

Hi, I see you had your wedding at JT. how did the music sound? Our DJ said that he's done numerous weddings there, & the sound is echoed because of the high ceilings & all the marble/granite that they have there. Any advice would be really helpful! Thanks!

Re: Oak room -Jericho Terrace

i've been to jt weddings, and the music sounds perfect to me. I looked at the Oak room first, when I was looking to book. But we added more people into the list, so we are in the Dome Room now...
