Does is matter if BM dresses come from 2 different places?
I was thinking to order some from RK Bridal and some from Lillettes in Baldwin. It is convenient for some to go to the city and convenient for others to stay on LI. What do you think? Will it have any effect on the fabric?

Different dye lots can cause different shades.

I don't know if it's true or not, but they say you should order all of your dresses together to make sure they're from the same dye lot. I suppose there could be subtle differences otherwise, but Im not sure.

I've heard the same thing. I wouldn't take the chance myself.

If you order from 2 different places, the dye lot cannot be guaranteed.

I guess maybe I should get them all from the same place. RK is $50 cheaper anyway. Don't know why anyone wouldn't want to take advantage of that!

YES YES YES !!!! a friend did this and the dresses were the same designer BUT came in 2 different shades- it has to be the same and I dont trust lillettes, they wanted my mother to order a dress they didnt have a swatch for- they called the designer in front of me- they didnt have a swatch- yea ok- and told me they said it was pinky pink- what the hell is that and this is 1050.00 dress hello r u kidding me and once its ordered NO REFUNDS!!! be careful- and hey it can happen to at the same shop if your shop doesnt call them in together like they are suppose to but at that point its their problem not yours, its not what you ordered!!

Re: Does is matter if BM dresses come from 2 different places?
OMG this reminds me of a bridesmaid dress fiasco of 1987. I had been a bridesmaid for my brother's first wedding where the bridal party was forced to wear pink taffeta at the end of October. Just when we thought that was bad, it gets worse. One of my sisters was a tough fit so her dress had to be made in a custom size. In 87, plus sized dresses weren't so easy to obtain. We all ordered dresses from the same place - Kleinfelds - in Brooklyn and when two of the 5 of us went for fittings, my sister noticed that her dress and mine were from two different dyelots. She immediately thought it was her dress that was different because hers was custom made. We made Kleinfelds pull all 5 dresses even though the other ladies weren't there. It turns out it was MY dress, which was a standard size, that was the 'odd dress out'. Even though the difference was barely detectable to the human eye, you NEVER know what flash photography can do to a color in a picture. It may make group pictures look just a little off. I would not take the chance - get them all at the same place!Welcome New Vendors
