Duet Brides, do you really have to give the proofs to them for the pictures you want in your album?

Phil and I finally sat down and figured out what pictures we want in our album.

Then I read the directions that Duet gave us. (I know, I have been lazy!)

I have to give the proofs of the pictures I want? I thought I would have to give them the number code on the back not the proofs?

Past Duet brides who have already went through this process what did you do?

I thought I could just email them the number codes.

I hate driving there, I really do.

We just did it and we sent in our actual proofs, not just the #. I hadn't even thought of just telling them the #. Maybe ask them?

I live in California, so I mailed mine back...

I didn't use Duet, but we had to give the actual proofs back to our photographer for the ones we want in our album. We then get them back once the album is done.

i didn't use Duet either, but i have to hand in the actual proofs as well.

You guys aren't bad at all. We were married last July and only got around to doing our album w/Duet this past December (yep I took my sweet time.. )

And yes I had to give Nicole the proofs we want to include in the albums - both our album and our 2 parents albums.

Tara: you got the instruction sheet from them, right? I only ask because when we originally picked up our proofs they totally forgot to give it to us, and this is half the reason we waited so long (until I read it on this board I didnt even know about the instruction sheet )

As it says on that sheet, when it comes to the album you don't use the numbers of the proofs like you did when selecting the thank yous pics or casual day signing board pic.

On the album pics, you have to mark BG on the back of proofs you want included in your album, BP for bride parents and GP for groom parents (if you are doing the parents albums, that is). ANd you do have to either send them or bring the proofs themselves back to Duet. Nicole told me that you do get these proofs back when everything is done.

We are over an hour away from their studio also , so this was ANOTHER reason we took so long

But for any of the enlargements (i.e., your portrait, etc) they only need the number of that particular proof - not the proof itself.

Oh also - if you have any particular ideas about how you want pictures cropped and/or customized, and/or how you want the album design and layout done, then schedule an appointment with Nicole and she'll go over it all with you. That's what we did , because I had some questions about how the album would be set up.

Before the album 'goes to press' Nicole will email you a preview of the album layout and you can see exactly how its going to look, and make any changes accordingly. She just emailed us last week with everything so it took about a month for them to get back to us

I'm not a duet bride, but I did have to hand in my proofs that I wanted in the album, and will get them back afterward. They do this to ensure that they print the correct pictures.

When I was in NY for xmas, I was gave Eric the numbers for the pics we wanted for the parents album. We have so much going on that we still haven't sat down together to pick the pictures for our album. Hopefully, we'll do this after we move into our house and before the baby comes.

Eric told me that we'll get all proofs back and negatives when the album is complete.

I just spoke w/ Nicole as well to give her my # for my thank you and i had no idea about this instruction sheet. She just emailed me the prodcdure for the albums- but I am glad i saw this post b/c i was concerned about getting the proofs back also! she said that they are pro's when it comes to laying it out and stuff! but now i am really excited b/c i just found out a/b the whole layout of the album being emailed! thats great! thanks for all the info!

I have another question about this, what if our parents want one of the same pics that is going in the album, can we put BG and BP on the same pic?
I can't seem to find that direction sheet, can someone either FM or email me the directions.

My slacker self hasn't done the albums yet but I never received any type of instruction sheet - I'm going to have to email Nicole tomorrow.
