I am not posting this to cause any trouble but IMO, this thread is offending a lot of us who have all the pictures that you mentioned that you did not like. My pictures are gorgeous and listening to you girls say how you do not like every picture that I have is getting me very upset.

Re: Which wedding photo pose is your pet peeve?
It is not necessarily a pose that I don't like. I personally can't stand any picture that looks like the smile is forced. If I am positioned and then allowed to move around in a small space, my facial expressions will be natural.
I did not want to be put in one place and told to smile. Just not me. Make me laugh and you will get my true smile.

I hate the ones where the bride is looking in the mirror either pretending to put on lipstick or brushing her hair. Drives me insane!!
Definately...can't stand that one

Some people take these Threads too personally. IMO we are all entitiled to our opinions. Just because we don't like something doesn't mean you shouldn't.
I was in a wedding in July and the photographer kept making us look like we were all talking to eachother. Those pics look so damn dumb. We are standing all set up and then he says "ok talk to eachother!!!" What a waste of time. He should have taken candids of us talking to people, not all posed.
He did that in a lot of pics.

I have been on here long enough to know not to take anything personally that is posted on here, it is just that I thinbk that you should not be talking about poses that you don't like because if you saw my pics you would see that the poses that you do not like are actually my most beautiful pics.

Even though we had it, I really hate the pic of the B + G with the veil over both their faces.
I totally agree! those, along with the weird ones they took of us staning apart from each other are my most hated poses from our proofs--we didn't have the flowers around the train ( only 2 bms) & not DH with his foot on a rock, bench, or wall.
That groom -foot thing isn't that bad, it works better for some thatn others.

aww, Lisa. I don't think anyone meant it that way. Everyone has different tastes is all.
I think that we all appreciate the beauty in everyone else's photos, especially yours. But, for ourselves, to have certain poses that just don't seem 'right'.
To me, having been so afraid of staining my gown, if I were to see a picture of ME with bouquets around my dress, it would make me cringe. But, I've seen yours and I think it is really beautiful! But, you pulled it off well, you look beautiful.
See, this is what I would look like if someone tried to put a bouquet on my train...
I just couldn't pull it off!

To say that someone shouldn't voice an opinion on what they think because those poses are YOUR most beautiful pics is absurd.
If YOU like your pictures, then what do you care if other people think they are cheesey? YOU have to be happy with your pictures. You and your DH and your future children will be the ones to look at them in years to come, not the rest of us on the boards.

Re: Which wedding photo pose is your pet peeve?
Once again, people on here sometimes take things too personally. Just because someone doesn't like a particular pose, that doesn't mean you didn't like yours. We are all going to like different things. If you don't like the thread, you don't have to read it. We all have pet peeves and to post how upset it makes you to read what others don't like....Come on now.....
I'm sure you have posted something about what you like or don't like and have had others disagree with your opinion.
Thats why these boards exist....so that we can all say what we like or dislike.

Re: Which wedding photo pose is your pet peeve?
"similar to suven's...I hate any picture where the bride is sitting on the floor with the dress all spread out, like she is melting into the floor. This pic has always bothered me!"
Against my better judgement, we had this one done and even worse, it was not on a beautiful green lawn, it was on the carpet in the catering hall! I hated all of the ones he took with the dress around me, but you know what? He took one close up of the two of us in that pose, and it was one of the best ones of the 300 proofs and we are using it as our thank you! So I guess my point is be open to whatever, because you never know how they will turn out. At the time we took it I was thinking "what the hell????" but just went along with it and now I am glad I did

I did not mean that no one could have an opinion, it is just that like dpli said you should be open to taking those shots anyway because you never know how they might come out and look until you see them.

I'm not too keen on the one where the mother of the groom looks proudly at her son knowing in your heart of hearts shes saying to herself "I am gonna make his wife's life miserable when I move in with them"
I nearly fell out of my chair when I read that one-I totally agree-my FMIL is definately someone who would be thinking that exact thing

Dont worry honey, I saw some of your pics and they are beautiful. I have mixed feelings on posed shots and photojournalistic..some of the so called photojourn shots can capture people at weird moments..and some call it "natural moments" when in actuality not all are flattering.. so I think everyone is going to have a different idea of what shots are good or not.

I dont like the posed all that much to begin with but I do think you need SOME. Anyway I really really dont like the charles angels poses or the one where the bride is laying across the groomsmens arms. And I personally will not be doing any kind of pic with my bms boks on my train.

I know that everyone has this picture taken...but, I don't like the pose with the bridesmaid's bouquets all around the bride's dress/train. My BM's had red/white roses and I was so afraid of getting stains on my gown from the rose petals (which happened anyway when people threw the petals at us in front of the church) But, I didn't have that shot taken cause I thought it was too old school.
I AGREE....they drive me kinda crazy

Re: Which wedding photo pose is your pet peeve?
I believe that certain poses and pictures are not for some people. It is our wedding day and we should all do what makes us happy. On my wedding day, I will not be having any shots of me, half naked, as my MOH or mom slips me into my dress. No pictures of me standing in my bra or slip "getting ready". They are just not the sort of shots I would want to put in a coffee table book or share with people. My photographer will be invited into my room after I put my clothes on.

Ditto... I didn't do these either- they would have made me VERY uncomfortable. Actually I was joking with the photo studio's guy who called to confirm my times and info about wondering if they would end up on the internet
