NWR: GOOD-BYE NEW YORK!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM SO HAPPY AND EXCITED. Today, it was made official that my FH got the OK to transfer to the new Geico in South Jersey, and keep his NY salary. This means.... WE ARE MOVING TO PHILADELPHIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am finally getting off this island, I can't believe it. We will be moving sometime in April to South Philly, right outside of Center City. Bella Vista, or right around the Italian Market area, to be specific. We will be renting a house somewhere in the neighborhood of $950 per month. THAT'S RIGHT.... $950, WHOOOHOOO. Philadelphia rent is the best. I am so excited, I can't even function right now. I finally get to get off of Long Island (can you tell I hate it here?), and live in the city!!!! But yes.... we will come back for the wedding, it will not go on without us, haha. Ahhh, I can't wait... South Street shopping, no tax on clothes, outdoor markets, the art museum, antique row, restaraunts serving food from every culture you could imagine... Ahhhhhhhh.

congrats! i live in south jersey... burlington county... so i know what you're talking about- its soo great down here! and philly is an awesome city with so much history and culture!

and.. you do realize... if you're coming down here- you and your DH HAVE to become philly sports team fans... theres NO WAY around in in this area- the fans here are nuts!! LOL
enjoy! i am a little jealous too though becasue after my wedding i'm moving up to north jersey where my fiance is from- just how it worked out with jobs and stuff

not happy about it! so enjoy it for me, ok?!

FH already bought a Phillies hat, lol. He called me yesterday while I was at work, and said, 'I just stopped home to tell you it's official, we will be going to Philly-- Now I'm going to Roosevelt Field to get a Phillies hat.' He did not waste any time. When it comes to sports, he never wastes any time.

I have days where I completely feel this way. I lived in Virginia for almost 9 years. I love being near my mom, that's a nice change, but I would be THRILLED THRILLED THRILLED to move back down to VA or NC. Ugh. Fh won't move b/c of his job. As I said in another thread, great place to visit. Hate living here. Hate it. Did I mention I hate it. I feel poor and I miss open space and grass.
