I have an idea for parent gifts, but...

I have no idea where I could have it done.

I was thinking that we could take our parents wedding photo and have an artist do a water color or a painting, (I think they did it on the cosby show LOL)and have it framed.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I did that for FH mom of her parents after her father died. i just went to the mall (smithhaven) and it was a guy in the middle where the booths are. It came out beautiful. Im dont know where you live so I cant say specifics.

For some reason I think that there is someone in the Source mall that does this near the Cheesecake Factory....

Yes there is...I've always noticed the potraits and didn't realize until a lrecent visit that they were oil paitings...they're gorgeous

Smithhaven Mall is in Lake Grove, I think that is a bit far from you. I paid around 180.00 it was 2 years ago so I dont know exactly. Im sure any mall has it. You should try going to the mall by you and look around to see if there is anyone like that. Usually the peices they sell are their own so you can see their work

You can also take the photo to AC Moore and get an oil enhanced picture there...basically they blow up the picture onto canvas and touch it up and it looks exactly like it was an oil painting. I forgot what the process is called.

that is such a great idea! i have NO idea what to get for my mom and FIs dad. They are both widows so I think that would be such a nice gift for each of them...
